Sure you can man. Let the plant almost dry out.
Holding it with your hand firmly over the top of the container, turn it upside down and let it drop lightly into your hand.
Lay it gently on an outside table or in a large pan indoors.
GENTLY run room temp water through it and slowly rinse the dirt away from the roots.
TAKE YOUR TIME.
When done, you should have nothing but the plant with some nice clean roots.
Start putting it into a net pot and very gently add some hydroton over the roots as you lower it into the net pot. Do this until the entire root mass is in it.
Then, put the net pot into your DWC setup and it should be fine. It'll show some stress and wilt for a day or two, but will perk back up.
If you're too rough, it can kill the plant.
