If Isaac Newton lived in Florida this winter, he’d probably have an iguana fall on his head, rather than an apple.

That is because a cold snap this weekend will likely cause the bright green reptiles to enter a frozen state, making them fall out of trees and other vegetation where they live.

Known as torpor, this cold-stunned state involves the iguanas slowing down their metabolic rate to conserve energy. Torpor helps the cold-blooded creatures maintain their bodily functions during cold weather.
Good point, but it also depends on how cold and for how long.

There was a significant die-off of both iguanas and pythons in the Winter of 2010 when the temperature fell into the 30's.

Well, we are catching it from both ends....got the electricians coming tomorrow, the problem I was hoping we had fixed, wasn't. Then yesterday I was grilling hot dogs, and heard water bubbling, looked around, and had a fountain coming out of a washing machine drain line. I was not happy, seems a lot of things around here have been rigged some way or another, and you go to fix something, and see it wasn't done right, or rigged some way, that needs to be fixed the right way. I lucked out, it was an old rubber sleeve connecting two lines, and it had gotten hard. Went to the store got a new one, fixed real quick.

Now if I can get the electricians here and gone...also waiting on Fedex again! Got a new tent coming, it's about a 30 minute drive from me, sitting since last Weds. I have plants waiting on both of those things, mixed up a bunch of soil for them all yesterday...not gonna up pot until I have my bigger light, and tent.
