Well tomorrow at 10 am they rip the lens out or my left eye and put a new one in. Nothing fancy just a standard distance lens from Alcon.

I watched several youtube videos of operations. Man the eye is a lot tougher than it appears. They section the lens into four pieces and suck it out with a vacuum. Then they suck up anything left and polish the surface then pop in a new lens.

Its the most popular surgery in America with a 98 percent success rate if you count that as not blind.
Good Luck
Ask for the video of it being done.

Did you tell them you use cannabis?

All that’s changed now. Now the replacement lens don’t have that locking mechanism. And in this one they left material inside that they now remove.

They are starting to do both eyes in one shot. I wouldn’t recommend it

You can also get a lens that’s near and far sighted plus a lens that can be adjusted up to three times for the sharpest vision and is hardened with UV light.

But me I said I will just take the tried and tested lens

The original lens was focused by the cilary muscles by stretching it, which can't be done with the solid lenses that they install, so I infer that the dual focus lens is a bifocal.

My 105 mm focal length work perfect for everything but driving and that is only because of the distance it requires to read signs. I can read, use the computer and watch 60" screen TV without them.

I also need them for tasks requiring distance vision like shooting, star gazing, and ogling young women.

Locally, they offer bifocal style replacement lens, but said some people experience a halo effect which might be annoying. They also will do one eye for distance viewing and one for closeup work, but I worried about going through the adjustment process that would be necessary. I opted for standard lenses and use readers now for close in work, the opposite of my vision pre-surgery. The entire procedure went very easily.

I questioned my doctor about the close lens on one side and distance on the other, but she recommended against it. She said it can work but is iffy.

I had lasik 20 years ago and got the close and far cut. Worked great for me until now. Will probably have to wear glasses again as I am taking the close cut eye and having a distance lens put in.
