The Four Gentlemen” (四君子 junzi) in Chinese brush painting refer to four plants: plum (梅 mei), orchid (兰 lan), bamboo (竹 zhu), and chrysanthemum (菊 ju). Those four plants have become the basis of Chinese art because of their beauty and characters.

I reckon so!
Learn something every day around here.
Good guess tho, better than what I had

Walt, do you know what this says. I think it’s maybe Chinese but not sure. Mr Subbie picked it up from goodwill for a buck and thought it might be political or maybe Olympics…

The guy whose book I am editing has my old "dictionary". The letters are very stylistic (as opposed to grade-school exactitude).

So the upper right is possibly a really skewed symbol for "man" spoken: "run/ren"

For the left hand symbol... Try as I may, I cannot make out anything at all -- it looks like (a wild guess) it might be "great" spoken "wei" <

The only other thing is the number one -- It is just like ours, but sideways. So my brilliant dechipering using what I learned in 1959 comes up with "Kewl Guy -- He's Numba One!"

SOOPER UNCA TRIVIA: Our "Arabic" numbering system comes from China. TINS.

一 二 三 四 五 <-- Ummm... didja notice sumpin' familiar about 1,2,3,4, and 5?

Guess whut Ten is in Chinese... +

We have a groomer come to the house. Much easier and Zoie doesn't get near as stressed. The groomer gets a nice bud as part of her tip. She takes real good care of Zoie as a result.

Never have seen that Subby. I give Zoie CBC for joint and hip pain.
Would like to find one that comes to the house. The barking in here is crazy and I’m sure my MJ is stressed over it

It says it’s cat nip. I grow that for my cats. They love it fresh
I grew some this year for Melissa and she rolled in it, but lost interest relatively fast.

Back in the late 60's a friend bought a lid that turned out to be Catnip, but swears he got off on it.

The yard is DONE! Got the Frankendeere out and got it all done. If a lawn tractor could smile, she'd be grinning ear to ear. She's a good old workhorse and got rewarded with a oil change. Wouldn't surprise me if that Kohler engine outlasted that Kawasaki engine in the Million Dollar Deere.

Please remind me in a couple of weeks that I'm done, mmmk?
