I gotta brag.

I have a helluva time dragging that heavy doggone target out there, setting up a chair and my homemade shooting stick, and then loading the crossbow. Doesn't sound like much, but it had me wheezing.

But I wanted to sight in my crossbow for 50 yards. My first shot was two and a half inches high, and a half-inch to the right.

I did not adjust the scope for L/R for the second shot becuz I wanted to make sure it wasn't my aim.

Second shot was 1/2" high, and OK (same) for my aim for L/R, so I made one last sight adjustment.

The special part was that I was lucky enuf that the bolt hit absolutely, perfectly centered. I could put it in the iris of your eye at 150' distance.

PS: This beastie will send bolts right through kevlar.

The carbon arrows are expensive. I have lost FOUR of them by giving different folks the opportunity to shoot a crossbow. When they miss the target, the arrow is gone.

When it hits the ground, it travels an ungodly distance just underground. I've never found a buried arrow ever.

I have been known to shoot a bow from time to time.
Metal detectors are great for finding lost arrows. Even the carbons have metal components.

Morning gang, never shot a crossbow. people that have, love them.
went to a club members house yesterday and took a look at his builds and projects. saw his 14 foot span B-17 he is building. its going to be an award winner for sure. bought a few old kits from him. some real classics, out of production for forty years or more. almost hate to open the box and build them. picked up a little bolt action 22 rifle, so used to buying larger caliber ammunition, it felt good spending 50 bucks on 500 rounds of good CCI ammo. you'll spend that much on 40 rounds these days. ammo never goes bad, and whatever i buy today was purchased at todays price. as it continues to go up in price (rather as the dollar continues to fall in value), i am locked in at a cheaper price. funny fact, a silver dollar in 1923 buys the same amount as the silver value if the same coin today. our "dollar" is worth around 20-25 dollars less in a hundred years. almost like the govt is screwing us. noooo, they wouldn't do that. big brother loves us. we NEED Big Brother

Any metal in the bolts Walt, if not wonder if the rear end could be uncapped and a small piece of metal could be inserted as to not affect the balance of the bolt. Then get a cheap metal detector ,
