Can older bud be pollenated? Like, the bud is ready to be picked and the old man put some pollen on it that we had (shook a baggie of pollen on it then sprayed some water on it). I want to pick the buds as i thot the pollenating should be done when the flowers are young. Does anyone here know the answer to........can You pollenate older buds and expect seeds to form?
thank you for Your thots on this
good growing,
tcbud
below is the stage i thot the pollenating should be done(first pic) this plant is way past this point now (past even the second pic) and after i took most of the buds, he tryed to pollenate it. there is quite a bit of bud left on it and i want it drying, not getting to old to smoke.
thanks again

you cant pollenate already picked bud. If its' still on the plant and you got about 3 weeks or so left till harvest you can prob get a few mature seeds.

I would suggest leaving just the bottom popcorn buds and pollenating them.Take the best buds and leave and pollenate the rest.

the lower buds he pollenated are on the plant still, he pollenated them after i picked the majority of the buds, so i will live in hope that i get some seeds from the buds i left that were pollenated.

He pollenated the older bud, (as you see above date, july fourteen) and i was getting it ready to dry it and when i finished clipping it off the large leaves, lo and behold, fourteen seeds all mature were on the table! They look mature anyway, dark brown almost black. One tho is only light brown. So i now write the words.............He was right, and i was wrong....lol...sometimes it happens.
and now we have seeds from northern lights x the purple dot plant that i love the smell and taste of so much. Will be a kick to see what grows next year from these seeds.:D

shook a baggie of pollen on it then sprayed some water on it
If he didn't let the pollen sit for 15 to 45 minutes before spraying it was a no go. Even if it was a go there is no way you'd have seeds in 15 days, thats ridiculous. It takes seeds 4 to 6 weeks to mature. I learned the hard way. If you have seeds and you didn't pollenate earlier then you either have hermie seeds or someone elses garden pollenated your crop. Pollen can travel as far as 200 square miles outside.

then it must be as you said, hermi seeds or another garden, how can you tell hermi seeds? and why would i just get so few?
thanks...

how can you tell hermi seeds?
You can't...you'd have to grow them out.
why would i just get so few?
It may have just had 1 male flower that didn't completely form or didn't completely open and didn't release much pollen. Thats if it's a hermie at all. If someone elses garden pollinated your plants then maybe not much pollen made it to your garden. Who knows?

Really!!
My Big female was near a male plant when it pollenated and I am not seeing any seed on her ! And she was about 2 foot away..

The only Female that has seeds as I can tell is the Smallest plant about 6 inches and I had pulled a seed off but I lost it at the bottom of the grow room, No find..

If you have a male 2 ft away from your female then your female should be pollinated. I don't know why it wouldn't be.

well I will see when harvest then.. But I don't see any like my little plant..

Oh, I believe you. There may be some reason why your plant didn't get pollinated. Who knows? Thats why I like my controlled enviro inside:D.

They were outside for about 3 months and found the 1 male and notice there pollen was open so I pulled it and 1 more in a week and when I finally moved them in doors I ended up with 3 more males and cut them out.. Damn them male I don't want any seeds on my plants !!
