Well I just managed to test one of my pet theories about revegging and old bud. The theory is that the old bud - it has dried on the plant - is a connoisseur smoke. Some expert growers have disagreed.

I can now say it's all in the timing. I've had old bud that was crummy. I left it on the plant too long.

I just began cloning from my one and only remaining mom. (Revegged). As I take clones I am carefully clipping the old bud. I don't want to shock the plant too much. The old bud has by now turned a cinnamon colour and the bud is half-dry. The trichs are way dark!

I took a large bud straight off the plant yesterday and dried it out a little bit more in the warm dry day outside. I tried 1/3 of a regular sized zigzag. It put me completely out within about 15 minutes and I didn't wake up for three hours. So I would definitely classify this as sleeping-pill quality!

Conclusion: Old bud can be really potent but you have to be very careful with the timing.

Anyone have an indepth clue to what chemical processes take place under these conditions? different color trics means a different chemical. and its not all freaking oxidation(almost never is).

Im beginning a quest to find the pot equivalent to jungle spice.
