Even tho i know everyone hates on the led'z i gotta give it a shot. Heat is a big concern for my first grow so its the only way. I plan to go way overboard as far as power so it should have great results. i dont know much about them though.
I really have no idea how many watts ill need.
And no led website says anything bout lumens.
How do i get the proper size led?

right after i post this i will message you some info

Don't look for LED info here

the last LED thread got locked

if you search there are things here to be learned
There is plenty of factual...LED info here. Several journals in veg', several attempts at flowering. But as is always the case, they failed miserably at producing buds in comparison to HID lighting.
The last post was the only one that has ever been closed, that I know of. It was closed becaise the same member has a journal going with LEDs where the very same discussion was taking place.
The closed thread was a c/p from High Times promoting LEDs... It's still available for viewing, but it was closed to curb any further "arguing".

What kind of setup do you have?
Maybe someone can help with your ventilation problem or after you see the cost of the LED's perhaps the money could be spent to fix your heat problem.

No real reason you should have to settle for a crappy harvest.

i messaged you the important information that i am not allowed to post here

Alright man, put together a little somethin for ya, check the threat "Truth about LEDs"

Would peoples lack of success with led's possible be because the light wasnt intense enough. Like the title says i plan on "OD'ing". Im growing in a dresser so not much space. I plan on using one 45 watt panel, two 14 watt panels on the sides, and 2 14 or so watt spotlights to focus on dark areas. I think it will be blinding. All will be the red blue mix, although i thought of using the red panels on the side instead of mixed to possible counteract the bud problem.

HAHA, didn't get that OD part before. Sounds like you are using those inexpensive LED panels eh? They should work fine if you're growing in a space that small and have some supplimenting on the sides. I like the red panel on the side idea, though a couple blue LEDs wouldn't hurt.

You are right in saying that peoples lack of success is from LEDs not being intense enough. That being said, adding a whole lot of LEDs to to mix will not make for more intense light, just more light rather. A lights intensity directly associated with its penetrating power, and LEDs just aren't very intense. Now to increase the intensity (penetrating power) of an LED light, you would have to replace a lights 1 watt LEDs with 1.5 or 2 watt LEDs, this will create a brighter light with more penetrating power. ADDING MORE LEDs, on the other hand, does not increase the intensity, but widens the grow area. Putting a 1 watt LED next to another 1 watt LED will not make the light from the two LEDs penetrate further than they would alone, however, your light coverage from right to left just increased as you expanded the length of the light source.

That all being said, you should still be able to OD your grow area just fine, just wanted to throw some more info at ya so you can figure out how to best use all those LEDs!

Is that glow panel 45 cheap? seems pretty good quality

You made the post ..THEN deleted it yourself....

don't blame the staff..OR me.. ;)

I got a board on Ebay for $20. 225 LED GROW PANEL. But it does not tell me the wattage of individual led's but it is plenty good for seedlings.

LED'z+CFL+HPS=......?SUPER YIELDS????????????

Well, possibly, depends how you do it, I don't think that the mix of lights would create more yield, rather just more light. A combination like yours would be more for maximizing your yield while minimizing your electric bill.

If you just wanted straight up super yields, the equation would be HPS+HPS+HPS = Super yield.
