New - First Grower - Hi

Hi,
I am a first time grower and have purchased myself 3 feminized Lowryder AK47 seeds.
I tried germinating them in tissue paper like i read on a guide but after 2 days nothing had happened and i got bored.
I decided to plop 1 seed in a glass of water to see if this would germinate the seed but to no avail.
I have now planted 1 seed in to some soil in a pot in my grow area, (under a CFL grow light, With a heater - not regular, on a timer)
Looking forward to hearing any advice.
If anything begins to grow I will post up some pictures.

welcome to mp. i always just put my seeds in a glass and wait for them to crack. you should start a grow journal so others can follow along and offer any advise you might need

once you get the seeds to pop just go to the grow journal section and start a thread.

also it's not good to post live links. try to post them here instead of using links..



is that a plant growing under that pastic thing in the pot?
is that tin foil on the walls? thats not good your better off with flat white paint.

not yet just the seed under the soil under the plastic and yes tin foil. and there is a heater that comes on every 4hours for 30mins, i don't know if that is a good or a bad idea?

:ciao: ANd :welcome: you came to the right place for good advice..Your first post said you had in wet paper towel for two days and you got bored...thats not the word I was looking for...one thing if I can help is that you must and I meen must have patience when takeing on this hobby...you will find much help within these threads...read read read...But have Patience..if ya cant find what ya seak..PM me Id be happy to help you out...untill then..take care and be safe:bolt::bong:

I recently started a grow journal with fem ak47 auto seeds.
Mine took 5 days to crack out of there shells.

First off, welcome!

I'm about as green as you can be with this hobby but I'm 10 for 10 on germination. The seed needs to be damp and warm. I soak mine for 24 hours until they sink. Then, I put them into Jiffy pellets and keep them 5 or 6 inches above a 70 watt lamp. Two or three days later, they break the surface. That's when they go under the CFLs.

Thanks guys I have just planted the seed under a little layer of soil in that pot as in the first picture I posted, are you all saying I should take that out and place the seed under a normal bulb in Jiffy pallet? ( I don't know what one of these is but will have a look if it is recommended)

Oh I also forgot to mention, I have my little CFL lamp on 24/7 is this a good idea to get the seed going or shall I timer it?
And how often shall I water the seed? once every other day?

No, leave that seed alone. You've already handled it enough. Just keep it warm and moist.

24/7 lights on..plant continues to grow..and less stretch will happen...just my thaughts

I've had a seed take a month to germ. The seed doesn't need light to germinate, only after it sprouts.
