Need Help Please

Hi im joker and i need help with my growing room and lights for my plant. I head that CFl's are cheap and work well. How many watt's would i need for 1 plant? I already have a 40w Daylight CFL light... Also here are some pic's below of under my bed. If you want to see how ghetto my grow room really is so far look at them lol. But yeah what else should i put in my little grow room for my one plant?

That bulb in the picture doesn't look like it's 40 watts. This is a 40 watt CFL: http://www.1000bulbs.com/products.php?cat=40-Watt-Compact-Fluorescents

That one looks like a 40W Incandescent Equal (meaning it gives off as much light as a regular 40 watt bulb). That bulb looks more like 9-10 watt bulb and will not be near enough! You'll need at least 50 watts (or 5000 lumens) per square foot. Look at some of the other bulbs on that site for an idea of what sort of bubls you will need. Remember you will need two spectrums: one for veg and one for flower.

That is a common mistake many people (myself included) make, thinking that if a box says 40W Incandescent Equal it means it is a 40 watt CFL. It is not!

In that space you'll be much better off getting tube floros if you can or hanging the CFLs horizontal to give you more room to grow. You'll practically have to grow your plants horizontally in that space!

What is that at the top of your cab? It looks highly flamable! Are you the one growing under your bed? I would suggest you take that peice of plywood you are using as a light blocker to put between your lights and your matress.

Tube floros are fluorescent lights that are long tubes, probably the most common type. Cab is short for "cabinet".
