Male pollen sacs

I have a male that i want to use for pollen but i dont want him to open and spread his seed through the whole room. Can i trim off the sacs as is before they open and then crush them for the pollen later, or is the pollen he has now even viable yet?

cut the flowering branches off, just as you would for a clone. Seperate them/him from your females. Almost anyplace will suffice, a window sill, under a single flo' lamp on a dresser or shelf. Place it in a glass of water, setting over a mirror or pane of glass. It will open and drop pollen right on the glass surface, easily scraped up and collected with a razor blade..

Ok, sounds good, will do, should still work even if its a 12/12 seed and i just move him and do a nip him off and let him drop.
