Man, I have these tiny flies in my pots and I'm not sure how to get rid of them witout damagin my plants...They're still growin prettie well I think, just tryin to figure out what to do! thx

:yeahthat:

also to get rid of them right now try to use your vacuum hose and suck the little buggers up.

the will lay some kind of egg that turns to larva and that will feed on the roots.

I was told this yesterday at my grow store when I mentioned I had these things hanging around my hydrotron.

sold me some nemotytes (spelling maybe wrong) to add to water then plant.

haven't done it yet. did vacuum them with the vacuum tho and that got rid of a lot of them. be careful not to suck up any of your plant.

Sounds like you have fungus gnats. They love damp conditions. Let your pots dry out for a few days. When you do start feeding again, feed from the bottom.

I believe there's a great product available for killing them ... Diatomaceous Earth. Never used it myself, but Hick swears by it.

I just had some of those...put a couple inches of perlite on top and it seemed to cure them. I do have diatomaceous earth on stand by.

I had some gnats.. Not sure if they were 'fungus' gnats because one of my main is problems is not enough humidity.. Anyway since I put an oscillating fan in there its basically stopped..

killing, eliminating the adults is good(sticku traps, vacume).. but unless you treat the "source", you aren't helping your plants. The adults are harmless to your plants, the larvae feed on the micro roots, and DO harm your plants.
..type "fungus gnats" into the search feature and you will recieve hundreds of helpfull replies
