we have 12 seeds in the ground

anyone care to guess how many boys vs girls?

its crazy , there is no rhyme or reason so any guess is legit

but yeah , cull those males , we feed our males to the chickens!
We do have chickens! But culling my male wards would literally be murder.

The only girls in my life is my wife, cat, chickens, and these plants. I’m good with it.

Almost one month in for the Skunk and first Presidential OG! Two feedings in, the first was a 1/4 helping of CalMag and GrowBig, the second of which was a 1/2 feeding of CalMag, GrowBig, and TigerBloom. They’re looking great! Now that the weather is going to be conducive to cannabis, I’m excited to see them take off.

They are likely a little stunted since the weather has been a bummer, but I think they’ll recover and ultimately get set on fire anyway.

As seen in the above post, the Presidential OG is showing ***, and if I desired an internet presence, my gender reveal party would be a hail of pink confetti!

The skunk is funny. Every time I water it, new growth looks a little brown. I’ve been watering pretty infrequently since the weather has been cooler and the pots have had a tough time drying all the way out, but this girl will just have to get over it because she’ll look wilty if waterings are too infrequent, or if they happen at all. Having two toddlers, I’m getting a lot of practice dealing with fussy things.

Seedlings are humming along! The bigger one is an Afghan and the smaller one is either Afghan or Presidential OG. I put them in 4/26 and 4/27 respectively so they’re coming up on one week!

I’ve got them under the umbrella for now, and when they get to the place where I can give them their first feeding (I’ll be doing it after they show signs of growing their third set of leaves) then I’ll pull the umbrella and they’re living their best lives.

A note for all plants:
Until we get to a place where the low temp at night is above 65 degrees, they’ll all be going in at night.

I’ll bring them back in at night during flowering so that the fan indoors can brush back the humidity that tends to cause bud rot in the warmer stages of June/July.

First day of training in the books for the bigs! They are LOVING the actual May weather, and I got to leave them out last night too, which is less errands for me, so win-win.

The littles had a moment of overheating yesterday with the 85 degree weather, so when I saw them doing a little “sun salute,” I popped them under an umbrella and they were good to go! I think they’re generally done with umbrella time since they stretched under the umbrella on Saturday. They want the best stuff (it seems).

Humming right along!

Looks like the Presidential OG is gearing up for the pre flower stretch!

I’m feeding tomorrow, should I swap out the GrowBig for TigerBloom?

This is what I feed plants that size.
There is also 2 mL’s of Silica in that.

Looked back on my grow from last summer, and I’m very pleased. My new plants (third and fourth picture) look so much healthier than my plants from last summer. I’m feeling really good about that!

Figured I’d post what feels like a “W” in a recreation that makes you count “L’s” way more frequently.

Update!

For the big ones, we are starting flowering! The skunk is blowing up and looking fantastic! It’s responded incredibly well to LST and the feedings have obviously been just right. There’s about six healthy looking bud sites, so they’ve been trained to keep as much of an even canopy as possible. It’s not as big as my skunk plant last year, but it’s much healthier as evidenced by its deep green coloring.

The Presidential OG is looking smaller, but still healthy. The plant looks like it’s favoring it’s main cola with only a few other bud site present, so I may take down the LST for the cola when buds start rolling in to give it better space to breathe. The close up of the cola is attached and trichomes are developing!

For these two, I’ll be switching feeding to CalMag, BigBloom, and TigerBloom tomorrow.

The smaller ones are ready for their first feeding! They’ll get GrowBig, BigBloom, and CalMag tomorrow. One is definitely Afghan, and the other looks to be Presidential OG. I think the Presidential OG isn’t as suited for VA, so next year I don’t think I’ll use that one in the rotation unless I REALLY like the bud.
