Day 38

After the first massive defoliation this should be the last. Overall canopy looks good and airflow should be good. From the top it still looks thick.

The plant in the back should make it to the Scrog net but we will see

Day 40

The canopy has thickened up in the two days since the final defoliation. I have bent several tops under the next but the stems are starting to harden and I am only 6 days into flower. If what I read is correct I still have two weeks of stretch left. That sound about right? And the back plant has reached the Scrog net

Good to see ya flipped these. Your gonna have your hands full. You've got a solid 2wks of growth coming. Where ya gonna put it? 😆

I am considering massaging the stalks, causing them to crunch with my fingers, just below the scrog net which may give me both a super cropping effect and slow down the stretch. What do you think?

Good idea. I do that often with branches I'm trying to guide. Big or small they all bend with a little crushing and patience.

I train under the screen for roughly 10days and then let them go. I just did that with my Cap Junky and I'm seeing some nice results. Longer stalks of buds and deeper canopy.

If your open to some suggestions I see some things that may help ya out next run.

Totally. I focused on getting the growing part down. Now it’s time to learn proper training and I would appreciate advice thanks.

My next scheduled experiment is how to light a 4x4 tent with a 3x3 light and get these results over the entire 4x4

Day 32

I considered what @greenmobster440 said and yea at day 32 its apparent I need to flip to flower. So, as you can see, I trimmed massive amounts of material off all three plants. My last grow indicated I could trim massive amounts and it won't affect the growth of the plant more than 1 day if that.

I trimmed them one at a time but I did all the trimming at one shot so I provided the original with a tape measure so you get the before and after pictures. The one in the back is so much shorter I made temporary allowance for more vegetation.

And now I can see the water levels so much better. I have a possible cataract surgery and I blew out my knee two days ago so I am going to pass on trying to make seeds this time. Too many trips up and down the basement. From now on it's just water and training

So I thought I would test growth since I am running some time-lapse.

To me ya have that net a bit to high. Had it been lower you could have flipped these quicker. The height of the screen can cut some time and make the canopy more manageable.

The growth stripping would have been a lot less as well. The majority of that growth would have filled the screen. Giving all the plant has to offer.

If I'm working a set scrog like yours I guide larger buds towards the perimeter allowing the smaller growth to take over the open center.

Plant numbers are important. To me a plant needs a 2x2 space and they fill that in no time.

Adjusting your scrog height and good timing on when to flip is needed in a set scrog. You'll prob need a second net in there before the end of this run..lol

As for number of plants I will always shoot for 4 because it gives me the most varieties which is what I am looking for but I see your point. Part of why I am looking at a 4x4 tent but want to run it with the 230 watt light if I can figure out how to use my lightrail differently than it was designed.

As for growth I took everything below the net as an experiment. I wanted to see if I could, basically, defoliate in one big shot and then a fine trim using the earth boxes without stunting their growth and my time lapse still shows no stopping the growth. It’s part of my set it and forget it concept. If I trim it constantly it takes over my time and ruins the concept for me.

Right now the scrog net is at like 18 or so inches I would like to drop that to 12 inches next time just enough for the lower fan to be effective. The reason it’s so high is I wanted the tops at table level but I think I overshot.

Day 41

I am running 10pm to 10am so last night when the light came on I broke every stem just below the net by holding the stems between my fingers until it crunched. After 12 hours I checked just now and they plants laughed at me. Look how much the bitches grew with their stems broken. It’s insane

Ordered a second scrog net
