Where is this Hopper I heard of?
With the way prices of parts have been and labor rates, Not really too badJust got a call from the mechanic. The left front brake line was blown, the left rear was leaking like a sieve, and he said the right side front and rear weren't too far behind 'em.
Gotta have brakes. The bill? Around $800. Wish the damned thing would have waited 'til spring and I'd have done them myself, but it is what it is.
I always found Ruth Buzzi to be titillating.....
Don't feel bad. I'm a retired mechanic with no garage. I just paid a shop 1200 bucks to fix an oil leak and put a new radiator in my wife's car. Talk about suck.Just got a call from the mechanic. The left front brake line was blown, the left rear was leaking like a sieve, and he said the right side front and rear weren't too far behind 'em.

Dealerships suck and suck your money as fast as they can, trough a straw comes to mind.Knowing what I know now, I would def check for rubber hosses and hose clamps. Local Chevy dealership was doing that with our fleet cars.
I was thinking the same thing. With the way prices of parts have been and labor rates, Not really too bad
I have owned bought and sold old cars that have never had belts or hoses changed with over 300,000 miles on themKnowing what I know now, I would def check for rubber hosses and hose clamps. Local Chevy dealership was doing that with our fleet cars.
And look at your handsThanks to Roster and Flower. I was kinda feeling beat up about the price, but it sounds like it wasn't all that bad.
I was thinking earlier how I should have had them do the driver's side and hoped the passenger side held 'til spring, but a blown brake line just ain't any fun. They said it will be ready tomorrow after noon.
I could have just parked the thing until warmer weather and drove either of the Jeeps, but I don't want the TJ to die from Michigan salt cancer, and the plow Jeep ain't too stingy with gas, so.....
One thing I have noticed about newer cars they use a snap ring clamp for Rad/Hoses now . Quick and easy to openKnowing what I know now, I would def check for rubber hosses and hose clamps. Local Chevy dealership was doing that with our fleet cars.
