Hence I had to become like "The Fugitive" on tv till I found out driving with a suspended license wasnt the end of the world and only a $75 fine
I used to have a Municipal judge that routinely gave six months for the first offense. I havent had anyone go to jail on a driving while suspended in years....Usually suspended imposition of sentence these days.

I had a client who was charged with Felon in possession of a firearm. The weapon was a black powder revolver.
Nobody went to jail that day.
In my state, you can buy 'em through the mail, but if you take it off your property or intend to shoot it, a black powder handgun of any flavor must be registered. I have several that are, and a few that aren't.

That's for federal level only homie your state laws may have a very different take on it.
Here as long as its not converted to fire a contemporary cartridge its 6
Air guns don't require an FFL. Yet.

Any brass or metallic cartridge is what is definited as contemporary not the powder charge.

So the gun is blk powder with refillable shotshell brass cases
Cool....

I've got a break action revolver that was made back in the 1880's that doesn't require a permit or registration. It shoots a .38 short that I make out of worn out .38 SPL brass. Black powder only. If you tried loading the shells with even a small amount of smokeless, you'd turn it into a hand grenade instead of a handgun.
