I like the Split Air units. Doesnt pick up heat from air ducts in the attic.

Even worse with ducts in attics you are subject to people putting duct work everywhere sloppy ,trying to make it quick and dirty . Then everyone else going into the attic fuks up duct work crawling over it ,crushing it ,and not caring.
I think there are more pros than cons having split units

Happened to me *******s put a foot threw my ceiling and unhooked the 10 inch duct going to my Great Room, cooled the attic all summer last year

When I was still a slum lord the condo building needed a new roof. The crew that did the work disconnected the furnace vents from the outside vent and didn't hook them back up. Unbelievable! So for a couple of years or so the furnaces all exhausted into the attic! Poor tenants had to be getting severe headaches if not worse....I never heard any complaint.

Didn't catch this until I sold the building and an inspector for the new buyer caught it.....incompetent roofers.

It really does .For most folks who are in a heat area have central ac.
You need a hell of a generator to run that and fuel to boot . If you can reduce down to a small ac unit in one room till electric gets back it helps.

Thass egg-zackly how the Chateau is set up.

Gots two A/C's stored in the garage. The house stuff has been set up to run off one of my generators.

Only one window A/C will be run at a time, and they will be powered by my sooper quiet Honda 2000i
