I was gonna start a grow journal but all I got is pictures of lit up mylar and dirt in pots pretty much. And well, I haven't brought much to the table here more than bad jokes in bad English so I thought I'd try this.

I learned some of this before the internet came around and I honestly don't have a deeper understanding of the science behind how many things work. I have added things over the years as I have learned new things and being male and an idiot at that I have stuck with methods that to many people seem absolutely ridiculous. Yes.

When I dry I dry in an enclosed space (whole plant if possible) with circulation but no ventilation and at about 50F. The humidity in this space goes from upwards of 95% and declines to 60% over 2-3 weeks and comes out pretty much cured. The kinds with "Glue" in their names take 3-4 weeks for me. I dont know if it makes a difference but I like to bring it to room temperature slowly just because I can and it makes me feel like a weed-professor or some shit.

"Enclosed space" is an old fridge for me but I have used plastic boxes of Walmart-type and passive beer coolers cooling them with ice and rocks and such. But shifting cold things quickly becomes old and when you open the box you will lose humidity and temperature. Also you want as tight seal as possible. I would say my "Dry" is as important to me as my "Grow"

The weed comes out so crazy terpy, the smells and kept on the weed in a whole different way. The best part for me has been not stinking the entire neighborhood down during dry too honestly. But it has proven to be beneficial in more ways. My total time from harvest to blunt has shortened and people ask me whenever we smoke together how I get it so tingly in the top of your nostrils. But, yes, it is also fresh, point taken, its not something thats been dug down in a field for a year with a hot summer.

But I love 60/60 too, I love it all. Tried freezedried just a month ago and it was awesome. It gave me lungbutter though.

Tell me how you do it!

You just explained the cold cure method. It sounds kinda off and weird to many but it's an effective and terp saving way of processing weed. I have not tried this yet. I say yet because I need refrigerator space and the wife is pretty stingy with that..lol.

Hanging a plant in 50f temps is not common but totally doable. Closest I can get to that is using paper sacks in the fridge to cure. Takes weeks versus days.

Just the other day I was talking to the wife about getting a small fridge for my growing needs. I can store edibles, cuts, butter, and even cure weed in it.

First thing I do is cut them down.

I wash them in a 5 gal bucket with Baking soda and lemon juice. I swish them around lightly then up and down for a total of 30 seconds. Then I drain off and into 3 more 5 gallon buckets of just plain rinse water. I hang them hand upside down to drain while I set up the bowl trimmer. This is done outside.

I pull all the large fans and remove the buds. I toss them into the trimmer in a single layer. When it’s full, I spin 20 Spins in each direction. This I do inside.

I lay them on a drying rack they dry from 3-5 days.

They go in a grove bag to cure for 2, months. I check them the first few days. If they are tacky I put them back in the rack another 24 hours to 48 hours. It's rare, if I have to re-dry one but the really sticky ones trick my sometimes. They will mold if they are too wet.

I have a weed fridge. People say not to store weed in the fridge but for me It has proven to be the way to do it. I store it in thick airtight jars in the fridge so temperature is stable. The fidge is not "dry". It has less water activity, so weed lasts longer. I use it for cigars, stored the same way, too.

Edit: Also, I'm single. Who would've thought..

I take one branch at a time off the plant, cut off most of the fan leaves, then cut the buds off the branch over the salad trimmer. When the trimmer is pretty loaded, I spin it 20-30 times each way. I do a little scissor cleanup on some of the trimmed buds.

Then they all go on racks for the food dehydrator. The dehydrator runs at 110 degrees for 3 hour time periods. I take them out when they feel a little crusty and put them in jars. I've gotten pretty good at guessing when they are close to 62% RH, but I'm happy with 62-70%.

From chopping to drying the whole process takes less than 48 hours for yields under a pound. If I wear Pam sprayed nitrile gloves, a hat and a machinist's apron I don't even smell like weed when it's over.

I tried putting them in the fridge, in pizza boxes, and while it works it takes a week or more. The second time I did it I ended up with mold on the buds. I guess the fridge needs to stay closed as much as possible to prevent temp and humidity fluctuations, and I share my fridge with my daughter.

I cut the biggest colas off and spread 'em out on newspaper on the kitchen table and turn a ceiling fan on low. They stay that way 'til I figure it's time to trim. The rest goes immediately into the hash-O-matic to be turned into bubble hash. No need for trimming or curing beforehand.

I don't put them in a fridge l lay them on a 3-4 tier rack. I have several. They hang them in my closet its dark and cooler there. Plus no cats
