I recently germinated a seed in just Tap water kept it in dark place and once it sprouted i put it in Soil, How deep should they be planted when putting into Soil. I dont want the seedling to use all its stored energy to try break the surface..and after 2.5 days i dug the seed up to check on it and the little white bit is now a long white bit i assume the root ? but anyway what is a perfect depth to plant seedlings straight outa germination. Thnx

PS: Diggin up a seedling does not effect its growth, Because i did exactly the same with my current grow

An inch of soil on top does the trick for me.
Plus digging up seedlings will effect your grow.Just give it time.

Thanks, i do give it time i only dig it up once after after first 3 days that's all i guess diggin it up alot of times would effect it but once hasent for me :\

Just because it grew successfully doesn't mean it grew to it's potential.Their are tons of tiny little roots that will rip off when disturbed. This could stun your plant.

yeah i fully understand what your saying, thats why i do it very delicate unless im sure exactly how deep to plant and no guidline to go by then it helps me know instead of waiting for a plant thats doing nothing. Which ive seen before

time4tokin, are you sure that disturbing the roots will stunt growth? I know it's a bad idea to dig up your sprout, but every time we stick our finger into the soil or stick a probe in the soil to check the moisture, we disturb the roots. I don't like disturbing the roots, but I sure hope the plants aren't that sensitive.
