Growing marijuana with other plants?

I would encourage you to get the 250 HPS working. I don't know where you live, but wiring in the US and the UK is quite different. Can you get us some pictures of your ballast, socket, and the existing wiring? Someone can most likely help. Are you sure the bulb is good?

I wired the thing all over again and IT'S WORKING!

LOL, sounds great, make sure to set the lights up so the UFO's don't block the 250 in any way (if you use the UFO's...personally, I'd use those over the other plants and keep the good plant(s) under HPS! But, if you can figure out how to position for optimal effect, good for you!
