germ ?

To this point I have not used any germination techniques other that put them in soil and water. Growing from bagseed ive only had one or two failures. I just ordered some quality strains....

Can i just take these, throw em in a pot and water and get the same results?

i want to try the rockwool technique but i am worried I will do it wrong and not get the seeds germinated...

To keep things simple, you can soak the beans over night in some water to soften the shell, and then stick em directly into the medium.

so let me get this straight,,, take a glass of water, spring water? drop the seeds in....and the next day just throw them in the soil?

should i use the ones that float or sink or just use them all?

whoa whao, ya chronic dude.. let me help you get these straight..
put seeds in the bowl for just one night... then in the morning, grab the tupperware bowl (transparent) and lid... , be sure you wet the paper towels, and its about 3 layers before you put all seeds in each places like 2 and half inch apart every seeds in places.. then cover with other 3 layers of paper towels and wet it good ( I uses the water sprayer to wet the paper towels it works awesome for me) be sure to have 4 holes for the lid to have air go in.. of course paper lid is over these hole.. so, let it be.. spray or wet the bowl and drain, then close it with the lid, leave it on cool storage area or very humidity area.. leave it for 4 to 5 days, when you check it out, you will smile and off to the start of growing stage.. really its not that hard eh?

i soak mine in water till i see a tap root comin out then put it in the soil, works like a charm.

yeah,,, little involved for me... I have been just throwing them in soil and waiting and getting good results. I dont want to paper towel germinate them.

ill throw them in a cup of water to soften the shell, and then ill throw them in the soil tomorrow....I suppose i could of skipped the throwin them in the water and just put them straight in the soil but what the heck....ill give it a whirl

Let mine soak in a paper towel for 24-48 hours just wait for the shells to crack a little. Then throw them in the soil.

The seeds don't have much stored energy. If you let the tap root get too long before you plant, it may not have enough energy to pop through the soil. I like to plant as soon as the tap root has broken through the shell. I generally germinate in paper towels.

Okay so i choss the cup of water method. I soaked them for 36 hours in water then planted them in baby pots. I germed 4 Northern Flame and 4 Bubblelicoius,,,Ill let you know how they turn out.

Just a question

how long should It take before the sprouts pop the soil. I soaked in water overnight and placed in soil.

Have any idea how many seeds should germ? I planted 4 of each of the two strains.

just wandering how long I leave the pots in there before determining failure or a bad seed.

WOOHOOO... today I went out to the room and saw to my suprise, 7 of the 8 seeds have already sprouted above the soil. I have one more that has not popped yet but its only been a few days so ill give it a little while. at any rate 7 out of 8 rocks~!

I Just Put Mine In An Little Tray That Cookies Comes In,with About 1/4 In Ffof In It.geltly Push The Seeds In The Soil And Spray With Water.then Put The Little Clear Dome On It,with A Few Holes Poked In The Top.place It In A Kinda Dark Place And They Will Pop.never Failed For Me.good Luck

I have both put directly into soil and done the paper towel method both with success. I usually put them on a plate, and invert another plate on top. They sprout in a couple days...then I plant in soil.
