Yet I still have problems with my plants, I have 2 from seedlings, and 1 is a female clone, I know for sure, from what my friends have told me that 1 of them is a female, still waiting for other to grow a bit more to determine the sex. My question is, I use wet soil, and it's in a pot where i poked holes at the bottom for drainage. It's just growing tall, with maybe 5 or 6 leaves total, with more growing. it's probably about almost 1 foot tall. Does that sound right? I'm told females have tons of leaves, as i've seen. It gets sunlight around noon-ish give or take, and is done about 9pm. All my plants have aphids, but do lady bugs take care of them, then leave my plants alone? Another, I just feed it regular water, I have no cash for any nutrients or foods, whichever you prefer to call them. Will it bud appropriatly? I also have some leaves falling downward, and some yellow.

Hello Bogan :)

If you know 1 is a female why dont you know the other one?

How long have they been outside?

Did you let them grow inside with no light?

It sounds like you have stretch due to lack of light.

The bit about fems having more leaves is total hogwash.

Aphids are born ready to give birth, its perpetual.

Lady bugs will eat them but they always out populate the Lady bugs outside.

Even if you spray an Aphid killer outside, 2 days later they are back, welcome to my world.

A plant will not survive on water alone, could you live for 5 months just drinking water?

I also have some leaves falling downward, and some yellow.

I use wet soil

^^ is your problem.

Soil MUST dry out between waterings.

This allows the roots to gain access to oxygen, without oxygen to the roots plants die.

What kind of soil are you using?

Welcome to the forum Bogan :)

We will help if your willing to help yourself :aok:

:peace:

The reasoning of not knowing the sex of my other plant is i wanted to try out my first seed first, see if i had the basic concept of keeping it alive longer than 6 weeks, which i accomplished with basic plant knowledge, knowing nothing of the marijuana plants, except, lighting is VERY important. From there, i become as useless as hell.

The first plant,(once i figure out how to post pictures i will, i have them loaded, but first time on any kind of forum) I had inside for about 3 weeks, then moved it outside since the windowsill didn't seem to work very effectively. Other than that, my baby plant is about 2-3weeks, give or take outside. The clone I am pretty sure is a inside plant, i'd have to talk to my friend to know more of it though. I've had it outside for 3 days now, and thats in dry soil(how it was given to me). So I kept it that way.

And thanks for the update on the females about the leaves, I didn't think it'd matter except for the sex of the plant itself.

A question I have, besides watching the Ready-Set-Grow videos, which pretty much covers inside, when i'm doing outside, but the nutrients? Is there any possible way you can score me a list of what to get? Brand, and type would be awesome. I can look around for more on the measuring back in the videos though.

and on the part where i have wet soil, pretty much just don't water it until it's dry for the most part? if not, how do I switch it to dry, w/out killing it...(if that is even possible)

sorry, total noob to growing, but I wanna learn so I can maximize the amount of bud when harvest comes time.

Another thing to add, I must shoot myself in the foot. Reading some posts MG is the worst thing, or one of the worst, soils to use...I have that for my 2, and some other one that my friends have been using forever with my clone. So that may be why ^_^

Dry and wet....
Dry means to let the soil become semi dry, not totally dry.
Wet means when you water the plant.

By all means water the plant (do not keep it soggy tho, let it breath as HIE said). A general rule of thumb would be about every three days. Outside in a pot, you may want to water it more often. Like every two days depending on outside tempertures (higher temps will dry the soil out faster). Dont let the plant totally dry out, another way to test it may be for you to lift the pot, feel the weight wet (and drained well) then feel it two days later then three. It should be lighter, quite a bit lighter. You dont want soggy soil, and you dont want brick hard dry soil either.

"and on the part where i have wet soil, pretty much just don't water it until it's dry for the most part? if not, how do I switch it to dry, w/out killing it...(if that is even possible)"
If it is so dry it has no weight, put it in a bucket of water, hold it down (the pot and soil) untill the air bubbles stop or it feels wet. I hope you are not yankin' our chain here. Then just water it regular, like a house plant, with water. The rythm is water, let drink, water, let drink......It should not be this hard.....water the plant, let it dry out for a few days, then water it agian.

Try Grow Big by Fox Farms untill your girls turn to flowering. Then maybe Big Bloom by Fox Farms. You can get them in smaller bottles, bout quart size. Not to pricey, I cant remember exact price. They are both organic too. Ace hardware in my area carries them.

Resize your pics in your photo Edit on windows. Go to Image, then stretch and skew, when there make your photos about 30 in both stretch and skew. That should get you small enough to post here.

If your girls dont make it, dont get discouraged. Try agian, your second and third and fourth grow you will still be learning. There are many here who will help, but you need to read some more in the growing part of the "Marijana Cultivation" part of this forum.

As for aphids, try the "Sick Plants" section, pick them off if you can.
