An explosion at a home in Broward County literally blew the lid off a marijuana grow house operation Sunday night.
The blast happened shortly after 8 p.m. at the house in the 2200 block of Southwest 43rd Way, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the roof had blown completely off the home, sending debris everywhere.
A search of the house turned up pot plants and other paraphernalia for running the grow house operation. Officials said the operation may have overloaded the home's electrical system, which led to the explosion.

No one was injured in the blast, but the force of the explosion did have some neighbors rattled.
"A big explosion, the house was rattling, the windows were shaking, we looked outside, everything's blue, the power lines were on fire," said neighbor [Jordan Rivera. "Half of the roof was gone from the house."
"All of the sudden, I hear a big explosion, I said to myself, 'oh my God, what's going on?'" said Lourdes DeWick. "It looked like a bomb dropped in my backyard."
Police are still investigating and no arrests have been made.

 electrical explosions? if it "looked like a bomb was dropped" wouldn't you need some other source of fuel for that? built up fumes ??

last time i lit a joint in a grow room the only thing that "blew up" were my eyes!

That must have been one huge fuse.....

I know when a transformer blows its a hell of a racket and it will shoot blue sparks but thats on the pole. What would make an electrical explosion of that size in the house? Crazy...

There must have been a gas leak involved.
