Figured I'd start a new journal.

I'll update and fill you guys in along the way. Still dialing in feeding schedules, adding a few new products to the lineup, made a few crosses in the flower tent with the keeper male Point Break pollen. A lot to catch up on.

For now, here's a photo dump of whats going on in the veg tent.

Solo cups;
3x Mandala Seeds-Ganesh Berry (Reg) (Ganesh x TGA's Plushberry)

1x Mandala Seeds-Purple Mandala (Reg) (TGAs Deep Purple x Mandala #1)

Taller one is a CSI Humboldt Seeds- Obama Care (Fem) (Chemdog D X Obama Kush)

A quick run-down on my mix, for anyone interested.

Started with bagged Coast of Maine "Stonington Blend" as my base. After 4+ runs rebuilding the same soil it's something completely different now.

I mulched with rice hulls the first few runs. Each time, the used rice hulls have been turned over to be used as aeration for the soil. I stay away from perlite.

After each run, I've reammended the used soil with;

Buildasoil "Craft Blend" @ 2-4 cups per cubic foot of soil. I tend to lean towards the 2cups.

Earth Worm Castings & Compost, for this is have no rate. I eyeball it until the soil composition seems right.

Bio-char @ 2-4% of total volume of used soil. Again, I lean lighter vs a heavier application.

Water in with Rootwise Mycrobe Complete to get the party started. 🥳
1-2 tsp per 5 gallons of water. I little goes a long way, and you could definitely get away with less. This just brings the soil to life.

Depending on pot size, this will typically get me thru veg, just water. Every few waterings i will mix in some Rootwise Mycrobe Complete. 1.5 tsp per 5 gallons of water.

IF I feed, I top dress with craft blend (¼ cup per plant) and compost, and water in with fish emulsion.

I have had a few runs where espom has been needed to correct a mag deficiency. That tends to only be when I'm in small pots, or have waited too long to transplant from their seedling pots. I would like to hear anyone's recommendations on what I can add to my mix to avoid this.

When I flip, I layer a topdress. ¼ cup Craft Blend and a 1-2" layer of "buildaflower" I make my own, recipe is attached.

Water in with Rootwise BioPhos @2tsp per 5 gallons of water. Follow up doses @1 tsp per 5 gallons. Again, i use it every few waterings. (Sometimes I'll use a light solution of fish emulsion and water it in if needed, ie yellowing leaves)

This gets me thru stretch. Longer flowering plants I'll add another layer of buildaflower at week 4.

Follow up feedings after stretch, I use buildabloom @1tsp per 4-5 gallons of water, Buildasoil "big 6" @1 tsp per 4-5 gallons, blackstrap Molasses @1 tsp per 4-5 gallons and Rootwise BioPhos @ 1tsp per 4-5 gallons.

Next runs I'll be using Freeze Dried Coconut Powder and Kashi Blend to my feeding schedules. Also going to start implementing cover crops

Seedling mix is pretty straight forward. High quality organic seed starting mix (i like Coast of Maine) and a small handful of craft blend. Around half the rate I'd use for my potting soil. And each transplant I use myco-extreme in the planting hole.

All these mixes and feeds use no poultry or slaughter house bi-products and no guanos. 100% pescitarian, 100% organic and 100% eco-friendly.

Buildaflower topdress recipe. Again I like Coast of Maine compost as it uses no manure or poulty/slaughterhouse byproduct

I use the Alaskan Fish Fertilizer too. It's some good stuff. I use it on everything in my garden.
