Both of my grandfathers were county and state fair champs with there tomatoes. And they swore by calmag just for their tomatoes. Nothing else got calmag. And the tomato grows were separated from there other veggies and ornamental grows. One was a cotton farmer most of his life and owned a gin. The other was raised on a farm and left to make his mark in the industrial world. But in retirement they took gardening very serious. But in recent years I've seen a major explosion of calmag use. Most seem to blame the calmag use on LED lighting. But I can't find the correlation between the two. And I'm never said there is not a use for it. But it seems to be the goto problem solver now days. The commercial growers here just drown there plants with the stuff. Walk into a weed shop and all you smell is calmag. It's awful! My gut is telling me the breeders have all but ruined weed and it's becoming more problematic to grow. Seems like the more they mess with it the worse it gets as a plant.
I agree with part of your assessment. However consider that calmag has only been in the market for 22 years.

As for the LED’s I believe they are totally correct to blame the new lights for calmag deficiency. I just never brought it up because I don’t like conflict. The lights and todays genetics produce bigger buds with more trichomes which requires more calcium and magnesium. Calmag is quick like a liquid candy bar for your plants and is the modern goto.

And that’s why I use TWO pounds of fast acting lime instead of the one pound the Earthbox directions call for. With just one pound there isn’t enough for the total grow using today’s genetics.

If they both do the job equally well, what makes one better than the other?

Lot of drowning going on in Oklahoma 😁
I've only been in one dispensary. All I smelled was weed. Never smelled CalMag not even when I'm using it. I do however smell fish when using Fish Fertilizer.😋

My grandfather went through a lot of gin in his lifetime. Picked a lot of cotton, too.

In my case the way it’s applied. You guys do a great job analyzing what your plants need and that’s awesome but not really my thing. By doubling the fast acting lime to 2 lbs not only do I give additional calcium but I know my PH won’t get out of range especially if I PH in incoming water. As for the magnesium my organic supplements provide it but I think I may look into fast acting lime that also has some magnesium. This is why I love it here

I shouldn't have to add the CalMag+ as both are part of the SensiGrow and SensiBloom. But since I see clear signs of deficiency without, I'll keep adding it.
I miss General Organics. Never burn or Tox my plants back then.

But she does look like she might snap out of it this coming week. Less droopy today. I took a dozen clones off and also did a small cleanup to take some suckers and sun leaves off today.
Pics are from before I cleaned her up.

Pinned down all 3 Dreamberry, 1 Ultra Lemon Haze, Pineapple Express, and fixed some of the Lime Sorbet(we found the REAL name after discovering the seed bank he got them from, Solkana)

The gas line he had available from his old dryer was long enough to use with the 12' regulator line that came with it. No need to pipe new lines to the room. We ran the hose right into the laundry room over a few walls and have more than enough room to get this thing fired up.
Currently setting the generator to kick on after it CO² levels drop below 650ppm. We will increase to 800-900ppm for the autos when they start to enter flowering. And up to 1200-1500 for the photos in less than 3 months.
Heat from the T5 eliminated the need for the heater. Heat is going to start increasing more due to all 3 LEDs currently in use being linked together and set to 75% bringing us to 35 DLI across the whole area.
We will probably have to run the AC in the winter after all.
I'm trying to talk him into a fresh air duct drawing from outside. Helping us by maintaining 400ppm of the 650ppm we have set now. He doesn't think it would help maintain levels and would cause gas to escape the room forcing the machine to turn on and off more frequently.
We'll see.

Oh...... forgot about the seeds....
We are germinating more...
2x Northern Lights x Skunk (G13 Labs)
1x Berry OG Kush(710 Genetics)
1x GDP(? But its GrandDaddyPurp so who cares where its from.)
1x Caramel Cake(Solkanna)
1x Mimosa(Origin Seed Co.)
Not sure if mentioned the giveaway seeds arriving the other day or not. I wasn't too pleased with the condition of my envelope.
single stamped envelope with 3 packs of seeds inside 1 missing completely(Durban Poison) One crushed beyond survival(OG Kush) and one made it Mimosa.
After getting in contact with the one running the contest, he agreed to ship me more to replace the damaged/lost seeds. With a different delivery method than the one he chose for the giveaway. I suggested corrugated cardboard. He may just ship in a padded envelope with tracking.

I like coin flips they protect and can go in a thank card or blank note

If memory serves me right, I ran my CO2 level at around 1100 PPM.
We're still in veg at the moment. We're running between 600 and 800ppm right now. We plan to increase this to 900-1000 for the autos when they start their flowering cycle.
Once we flip the photos to flower we will shoot for 1200-1500ppm

the new "Heartbeat" of the grow room.
Any doctors in here? Think we have a murmur 🤣🤣🤣

It's always nice to see people who truly care about their product and how it arrives.
I have gotten smashed crap too many times. These arrive safe and I can send internationally for about 3 bucks sometimes less. They made it to Germany in 9 days. International uaually takes 2-4 weeks ask @Thomas81

Lots of defoliation done tonight. Cleaned up every plant. Took 2 Plushberry and 2 Lemon Lime Sherbert cuttings tonight.
SkunkOG bouncing back. Still deficient but not dying anymore.

I made a lot of adjustments to each pinned plant. We're still short on funds to buy the screen but we'll get it soon enough. We moved 1 light and are moving all the plants to 1 wall so we have room to work. Building a work station inside the room to make planting, cloning, and repotting a little easier.
Everything is looking great in there though. Spent 2 hours in there between watering, planting seeds, taking cuttings, and plant maintenance.

all the seeds popped tails and got planted. 2x Northern Lights x Skunk, 1x Berry OG Kush, 1x GDP, 1x Caramel Cake, and 1x Mimosa.

SkunkOG cuttings might need a heating pad...

Looks cleaner now with them all on 1 side of the room.
