Have a couple more SF seeds popping. I'm getting less than 1 in 10, but at least a few of them are still viable. I think cracking them end to end is the wrong approach. I had better success cracking them along the edge, and without soaking them first. Either way the male autos will be done long before I get any of the SF into flower. I will collect lots of pollen, though.

I have 5 males so far, all the tall ones of course. The others would still be indeterminate if I didn't have the definite males as contrast. Another few days and I will have to move the females I want to harvest to a pollen free tent. I hope the tomato plants like company.

Another SF down. It had started putting out new leaves, but never progressed beyond that. I have quite a few seeds in different environments, so hopefully some of them will make it. I'm also getting a SF clone from a friend, so I will at least have the female side covered.

I decided to rearrange the rest to give them a little more space. Some are in pre-flower, and I counted 4 definite males. My eyes aren't good enough to id the females this early. I will leave one or maybe two females in with the males and move the rest before the pollen starts flying. Not exactly sure where I'll move them, but no one want that many seeds.

I know right

How did you crack them along the edge?

Three more SF seeds popped - from a solo cup with coco-perlite, cracked after 12 hours in water. They are the only three I planted like that. There's a fourth from the seedling tray, but its tap root is kind of misshapen and it might not make it. A few more in the seedling tray are sprouting, but might be damaged from the cracking. I think I have enough to expect at least one male and one female.

Enjoying this whole gif making thing. I never appreciated how fast these plants grow until seeing the time lapse of them. Well, how fast normal weed grows, not so much the SF plants. Starting to think making autos of them might not work out so well. They might go straight from seedling to flower with one tiny bud. I left the one I culled sitting on a table until I had something else to put in the pot, and noticed last night it had grown a little. I stuck it in with the tomatoes and gave it some water. No idea if it will survive.

Two definite females. I moved them to the tomato tent because two males have pollen sacs showing. Pretty sure one of the larger plants is female, so that will be the one that gets pollinated. I'll take pollen from the largest male for the freaks when they are ready, and cull the rest of the males. One of the females I moved is kind of short and squat, and is about to be culled as well. As long as I have room in the tent I will let it stay, though, so it better hope most of the other plants are male : )

Cool never thought about just using one picture a day. Has a nice vibe to it

Anyone ever (successfully) refold a Vivosun 4X4? I think my folded version takes up more room than when it was setup.
In all seriousness I have been thinking about this myself. Consider it has to fold in specific ways I would look at videos unfolding one to figure how to get close. I figure it should be really warm in the room where you are folding it like working on a tire or hose when it’s warm and in the sun and it should fold better. It will never fold as it was new but you should be able to get it down to a large box.

It could be that a hair drier will prove to be an asset in this endeavor
