Have a couple more SF seeds popping. I'm getting less than 1 in 10, but at least a few of them are still viable. I think cracking them end to end is the wrong approach. I had better success cracking them along the edge, and without soaking them first. Either way the male autos will be done long before I get any of the SF into flower. I will collect lots of pollen, though.

I have 5 males so far, all the tall ones of course. The others would still be indeterminate if I didn't have the definite males as contrast. Another few days and I will have to move the females I want to harvest to a pollen free tent. I hope the tomato plants like company.

Another SF down. It had started putting out new leaves, but never progressed beyond that. I have quite a few seeds in different environments, so hopefully some of them will make it. I'm also getting a SF clone from a friend, so I will at least have the female side covered.

I decided to rearrange the rest to give them a little more space. Some are in pre-flower, and I counted 4 definite males. My eyes aren't good enough to id the females this early. I will leave one or maybe two females in with the males and move the rest before the pollen starts flying. Not exactly sure where I'll move them, but no one want that many seeds.

How did you crack them along the edge?
