I discovered mosquito larva in my nutrient reservoir this morning. I wouldn't have noticed, but there were about 50 mosquitoes flying around when I walked in. I'm going to chop GOG plant this weekend, so the larvae can stay for now. My shop vac took care of the adults flying around pretty quick. Wish it worked that well on thrips.

Oh, the SF harvest came in at 2.5 ounces. The buds just weren't very dense, and they shrunk to half size when I dried them. The SF is still growing outside with most of the buds gone. Going to give it a chance to survive the winter.

While I feel sure it didn’t happen this way I am envisioning you running after individual mosquitos with a shop vac and a really long extension cord at the speed of a butterfly catcher.

Yep

If the mosquitoes were smart and flew away, I probably would have chased them. Fortunately, they had never seen a shop vac before and came over to check it out.

BTW, it also works with ground bees. Just leave the hose near the entrance and plug it in : )

That is a great Idea.

I wish I had thought of the shop vac when they got inside my concrete porch through a crack in the mortar.

Regardless if the nest is in the ground might I suggest an alternative? Costs $5 and I think it takes 2 D cell batteries. Turn this on and lay it over the hole. It’s a portable zapper that looks like a tennis racket. I also have a bug-assault salt gun for insects on my deck. Like in tombstone I let the bugs know to step aside I ain’t kidding. If it looks like rain cover it with a tarp.

I have one I love it. You have to hold the button for it to zap. Thats is so you don't accidentally zap someone or kids zapping each other.

The GOG is sure taking its time finishing. After a closer look this morning I can see a lot of buds still have some clear trichomes, and there are even some white pistils. I guess I'm not harvesting this weekend. Looking more like late October at this point. I'm regretting letting it flower in the main shop, since I can't turn any lights on after dark and can't do any work with them off.

I chopped the GOG today, finally! Probably should have waited one more week, but I'm over keeping the light off at night. Anyway, I found a total of six branches that had the top bud missing like this one.

One or more of the pool builders must have snipped some bud while I was inside with the shop unlocked. And I had just given them a full jar of dry tasty bud for nothing.

It's not like I will miss the weed, but it pissed me off and made trimming more annoying than usual. Now I have to lock the shop, even if I'm just stepping inside for a few minutes. And I have to turn the cameras on <sigh>

Anyway, I still got a ton of super dense bud. Maybe 3/4 lb from the look of it.

Yeah I am really selective on who I allow to know even though I am perfectly legal

My neighbors lawn care service were very interested in her plants and the one I have in the ground between our houses. I lock up her plants and mine now at night though I can’t do anything about the plant in the ground…

Not to condone theivs, but at least they only snipped a few buds and not the whole plant. I have seen so many get ripped this season more than usual.

The approach graft on the two ABC clones finally shed it's paraffin tape. It worked out far better than I was expecting, since the trunk is almost twice its original size, and the clone(s) is already almost as big as its mother. I was planning on letting grow all summer, but with the whole BSHW thing going on I might have to flip it to get it out of the way.

Interesting thread for sure. What is this ABC? I've never seen a plant like this.

I D K but there are purple ABC coming to my mailbox tomowwow.
I have plenty of extra seeds if you want some. Not the purple, though. I'm sort of thinking of growing one plant through the winter then moving it outside in the spring. If no one knows it's cannabis, I can let it grow over the fence and not be too concerned with getting a ticket.
