Haven't been around for a while, real life getting in the way of growing : ) We're traveling again next week, just to Seattle and maybe (yuk) Vancouver, but we'll be gone for 10 days. I have a beast of a Godfather OG drinking close to three gallons a day using a large auto pot. It's the only plant I have inside right now, and I was close to tossing it, but I discovered a float valve that fits the large AC Infinity water pot perfectly. It uses so much water I ended up adding two more reservoirs to feed the first one. All the pumps run for three minutes a day.

Love the watering system!

Can you point me to the little valve you found that sticks in the auto water pot?

We all get busy, glad you found your way back... come on, you missed us huh? hehe.

Nice to see you solving a problem so creatively... love anything McGyverish.... hehe..

safe travels... and oh, when do we get to see this beast of your'n

There's a link in the post, but here it is again : )

Thanks. Unfortunately it works on pressure only just like the others I have tried. I think I will give up on trying to water using gravity feed but I am not brave enough to put pressure on it either as it would flood the basement.. I guess I could move my tent and put it where if it had to it would flood into my sump pump should that happen

You can definitely use it with a gravity feed system. The water supply just has to be higher than the valve. On flooding the basement, I did manage to flood the floor of my shop last year due to a faulty timer than turned the pump on but never turned it back off.

Yeah, I definitely missed you guys! I dropped by a few times a week, just never had time on a "non-secure" network to actually post something : )

Here's the beast. I was given this as a clone, and I stuck it in the shop by itself under a light I accidentally had dimmed by half. I have two lights on it now at 100%, and it's too tall for any of my tents, and too wide for the back room. I'm planning on flowering it by setting the lights to match daylight and leaving the shop lights off.

I’ve tried several brands of that style. If you read the specs it will tell you it requires a tiny amount of pressure. In this current grow it worked great for 2 months then decided to not work and flooded my tent. I am afraid the only ones that might work perfectly for gravity are the fulcrum type valves. Toilets have a float on a long rod, fulcrum effect, so they can print pressure to bear.

I have a work around but I gotta say tubs feeding tubs was cool

I gotta ask because I'm curious. Why three tubs of liquid for one plant? Ya got a lot of pumping n dumping going on. I've not seen this type of setup before.
Plant looks great. It's working for sure. Just curious as to how n why.
When you can’t water the plant for days and you have to go somewhere you do stuff.

I salute the “do stuff crash attitude” as I have myself flown on such an airline from time to time

I have fulcrum valves in the lines feeding the main tub. They do have tighter seals than the little plug valve, but I couldn't think of a way to attach one to the auto pot. I guess if the timer sticks on I could end up with 30 gallons on the shop floor and a dead plant when I get back. The floor can take it, and I still have plenty of weed : )

I noticed the Supafreak in the backyard is starting to flower. This is the one I put out in early spring that flowered and was harvested, then was left to fend for itself with a few lonely branches sticking out. I only watered it a few times and never trimmed it at all. I didn't use any pesticides either, and the thing is virtually bug free. I guess I should do some trimming or it will be full of bud rot long before harvest time.
