is it ok to put the clones in rockwool? also what kinda light should i have one them for a 20x15 tray. another question i have is..intake is it ok to bring hot air in? cause i want to vent but where i live is real hot and i dont want a/c working all the time.

clones love rockwool, as for the light, ill let you wait for someone with more exper in smaller lights(i use a 400w). good luck, love to see pics!

the best lights, I've found, for making clones is flourescent lights.

CFL's or the regular "shop" flourescent type (tubes).

before I made my veg box, I used to just put lights over top of a large bin with the clones inside, 2 cool white and 2 full spectrum bulbs

like this (no lid on top, just the lights)...

It can be done but its harder and it takes longer.

If you have too do it as soon as you can the longer in flower the harder it gets because they will have to revegg more.

Sure it is... you are simply "starting" with a sexually mature plant...

it all depends on how hot the intake air is... as long at your growing area is under around 90 degrees, you should be fine... any more than that and you risk creating a sauna that the plants will not thrive in.

if the ambient temp is already close to that, then you are going to need a massive amount of intake and exhaust to keep the area within growing parameters.... it might just be that you HAVE to have your A/C running all the time... if you wanna grow pot, it might be a neccesity (spelling???)

as well, don't forget, you will also need to have a lot of ambient airflow WITHIN the grow area... moreso if the humidity of your area is high (mold/mildew). the more airflow around the plants, the healthier they will be, as this also aids with the plant's respiration. :D

what if i add c02 do i still need vent? the intake air is aleast 100f..cant i just vent it exhause and have a/c? also doesnt anyone know where i can buy some soild black plastic to cover light leakage?

if you add co2 you will still want to vent cuz the plants are gonna use it up at some point and also, too much co2 'unvented' is a hazard for humans.
i know nothing of a/c cuz im in a pretty chilled climate..
and for the plastic, check the painting department in your local hardware store.
i just got mine there two weeks ago!
p.s. get a roll or two of duct tape if you didnt already. and go for plastic thats a minnimum of 3.5mm to 5mm thick. durability is a must.

Thank you so much Cruseonme for post this thread.I have learned alot by reading it.I just cloned in rockwool for the 1st time and it works great and it seems to work faster..not sure but it seemd that way...anyway again thanks and have a great day.night
good luck and let us know how it works out

co2 over rated.and not needed..IMO..air circleation cridical in and out..if you are bringing in air from outside you will be bringing in co2..IMO..KEEP M GREEN
