can i use this light

ok im not good with lights. i have lights allready in my grow room that are fine but i want to start another room. anyways my wife was out shoping last night and she bought new bulbs for the house and they are fluores so if i took a few of these would they work? the lumens from one is 1600. any feed back would be great thanx.

ok u lost me lol. um do u know where it would say that on the bulb? all i see is light out put 1600 lumens energy used 23 watts verage life 8,000hours on the bulb it says 23w 120vac 60Hz 380mA. if i were to use these i would plan on hooking up like 5 or 6 of them in the room.

hmm, somewhere on the box or maybe even the bulb it should say it's color temperature. 6500k is very good for vegging because it has more blue light in it. The 2700k is a warmer light and contains more red wavelengths. That's what the plant uses when it flowers. For strong vegitative growth you want to go with those 6500k rated bulbs. You'll know when you turn it on. If it's very bright white/blue then it's probably somewhere from 5000k-6500k. If it's more of an orange color than you have a 2700k.

The fact that the box in the picture says "soft white light" makes me think that it's more around a 5000k temp bulb.

I'm not sure how accurate this chart is, but it will give you an idea of what the Kelvin rating means.

stickey budz you'll need to get the 45watters like 5-6 of them (depending on how many plants), IMO, but morelights is always better. You can start them off with them and take them to your othe room where the more powerful lights are at(im guessing sence u said u already got lights).But i dunno much jus going by what i read and the experince i had (wich waz good) wit clfs.I did LST with mine and got good results outta of it.
