Bracts are the seed covers that on unpollinated plants just have goodness inside them instead of seeds. It is another way of saying low sugar leaf buds.
Thanks @oldfogey8 . I was getting ready to head down a google search rabbit hole, who knows where and when it might have ended. Now that you said that, I sort of remember.

I cannot convey how disappointed I am (at this point) with this grow. I have walked away from a few things in my life, but always at the top of the game and not in a rut. I'm going to see this to the end. The other side of it is, everyone I have managed to make contact with that has finished this strain/variation says it's some killer fire weed, and all of them say they would NOT grow it again. Too bad I couldn't have found them sooner. Anyhoo - Bud **** for the week. Nannas and balls for everyone - I'm buying. (They're all in the interior - in the shade - nothing on the tops - Yet)

Stretch appears to be finally over. Trichomes are starting to pour on. This IS suppose to be good shiz according to a couple friends that have grown it. I'll have to wait and see. Changed res. Next change in 10 days.

I came in from the grow shed and lovely Mrs. Monkey says holy cow you stink. There is potential with this one. I can feel it. There a lot of things that can go wrong between now and the end. If by chance a person was going to buy a digital camera for the sole purpose of shooting bud ****, what camera or pixels or what ever do I need to know, in high school, junior college terms? I haven't owned a camera in years. If I decided to, I would guess my budget would be around 100 to 150.00 def no more than 2 and that includes tax and memory cards, total package, everything. In Fact - What would I need to get the pictures from the camera to the computer screen and on the internet anyways? - Maybe that is not enough money. If so, I'm probably just stuck with my samsung phone. What kind of settings or apps would help get better picts with a phone? - - - - Chasing that Gold Bar... (It's become an obsession - again) I know there are sub-topics and threads here which deal with just the photography aspect alone on the Passion. I probably make some coffee, smoke a couple and head down that rabbit hole in a few minutes.
Thanks.

Your Samsung phone should take pretty good pictures provided it isn’t really old(probably less than 10 years). It is hard to hold still enough to take good close up pictures by hand(for me and I think a lot of people). My son got my wife a tripod with a cell phone mount on it. It also has a Bluetooth remote so you could set it up and trigger the shutter remotely. I will try it out today to see how well it would work taking a picture up close today and see how it works. Probably a lot less expensive than a camera. I will get the info on who makes it too.

I got into that first thread by nvthis, and Qman. Started googling the equipment they were suggesting and some of the lenses. I may get a cheap camera capable of magnifying to the trichome level, maybe a cheap tripod, I will even play with flash settings - - BUT NO WAY - Them guys were easily between 2 and 3 grand PLUS - easily - just in photography equipment. NOT Happening. If I had 2 or 3 grand just to drop, it would be back into the actual grow itself (knock a wall out and expand) and not photography equipment. I'm going to go through a couple more threads late today, and I do see value in a good back drop, but ya... actually no... I'm not spending that kind of cash just for bud pictures.

Nice picture..
Sexy, almost reminds me of the late 80's back in my buying and selling days which are long over. Mmmmm. I can smell that juicy fruit bubble gum smell from here.

Wild turkeys all over my area. Surprised with the amount of coyotes at night. Never got to try that meat yet but sure would like to. I know wild ones are suppose to be a little greasier. Looks Yummy !!!!!!!! Nice shot if it's yours!!! In IL, I'm pretty sure you can only use shotgun or a bow... A 22LR would work nice on a country cruise with the cooler and some road sodi's but getting a little old for that kind of mayhem.

The breast don’t taste much different than a tame one.
I have guided so many people on turkey hunts, I can’t remember if that is a bird I killed or not. I don’t guide for money, just a few out of town friends who come stay at my house for a week during turkey season. We hunt, grill, drink beer and smoke weed all week. Everyone is rolling in this evening.
Anyway, the guy that took that picture really is a good photographer. I am not kidding about having him take some glamour shots.

This is what my wife has. No identifying info on it anywhere but I am guessing it was bought on Amacon and I doubt brand is a contributing factor, just the steadiness of the camera.

The pic is with the phone mounted on the tripod:

This is handheld:

Much clearer in the tripod-assisted pic. Getting it into your tent or grow space may take some innovation but it eliminates my shaky hands from the equation.

Your BOTM pic was beautiful. Did you take that with your phone. Love the colors in that shot. 🥰

They are a PITA to set up on a real plant. Good for bud on the table tho. You gotta hold your breath and take several shots and delete the ugly ones. Then use you phone to edit the picture up close.
