I've done a lot of research in the "paranoia" area of MJ. I've noticed that most of the "worst case" situations involve a combination of two things:
1. The loss of full mental control when high.
2. Being in situations that normally require full mental alertness.
I'll explain.
During the same evening of smoking weed, I went with a young man who complained of severe anxiety and paranoia when he got high, to several places.
1. A movie.
2. A crowded pool hall.
3. His home.
At the movie, he said he didn't notice any anxiety or paranoia. He laughed at the right places and enjoyed the movie.
At the pool hall, he was introverted, stayed to himself and looked like he was miserable. He said he was so anxious and paranoid that it made him crazy.
When he got home and the door was shut, the change was immediate. He sat on the couch, looked like the weight of the world was lifted from his shoulders and then said the weed wasn't worth it. He didn't enjoy himself when he was high.
I mentioned to him that he had a great time at the movie. He said, yeah, but I was into the movie.
There you have it. As with many, many other times I've watched this phenomena happen, the paranoia and anxiety come with someone thinking that OTHERS are observing them. Watching what they do. Judging them.
Another lady told me it always felt like she was supposed to be DOING something and she was messing up because she wasn't DOING something she was supposed to do.
This is all just a failure to relax and let the mind wander where it wishes to go. The more of a CONTROL "freak" people are, the less they seem to enjoy getting high around others and in UNCONTROLLED situations.
For those folks, I would suggest using a very strong Indica. When comparing the two types of highs with these types of people, I've noticed that the paranoia and anxiety seem to come more with the Sativas.
Daddyo, try getting your hands on some really serious Indica and having your wife try it while enjoying something that takes very little mental effort and while she has absolutely NO responsibilities.
It may help her. It's helped quite a few people I know with the same problem.
Some folks just CAN'T let go. They HAVE to be in TOTAL charge of their minds AT ALL TIMES.
That type of person usually just doesn't like to get high. They feel like they've lost the control they need so badly.
It's a mind game that sometimes isn't very funny.
