Trying to do a floater (which I've never done) on an auto Strawberry-Banana. I know the veg is short and I'm 22 Days in, week 4. I'm attaching the progression from the time they hit the 5 gallon pots. My question is am I doing the proper prep for a screen? I'll add what I've done before each pic and why......

Two days later I began to do some LST........Started with Pipe Cleaners......

I traded this out for coated wire between 2 small stakes. I can tighten or loosen the hold by stake-adjustment.......

The yellowing on this last one is a concern, the other 2 show no problems yet. I'm going to do a full dose next feeding with 1/4, 1/2,1/2 tsp of Epsom/CalNit/Jack's Classic 20/20/20 Otherwise has been Ph'd to 6.6 - 6.8 RO/DI water. These are the latest.......

Am I tying down and leaf folding correctly (as far as you can tell)?

My other question is regarding the first two of this last three......if you look at the first 2....facing towards the center of the pot I tied two secondary branches back out the bottom side of the plant. Is this correct? I know I'm stretching the top cola sideways and around....... popping secondaries along the way oriented vertically to be colas. Can I get colas from a secondary headed that way or must it be the main that pops colas? How do I get colas in both directions?

I hope I'm asking right......that I make sense......go easy.

Good to see ya asking questions and actually doing the task. Ya got the right idea. Pushing all growth outwards is never a bad thing.

There's some good examples of what I do in the floater thread I posted. I tend to remove more leaf in the early stages. Opens more light to the new branches. Which makes for some quick growth.
Peak under them leaves. If there's a branch below remove it. Watch it take offfffff...lol.

And yeah, every branch you see can produce colas.

Yep, I bent some over today and removed some big fan leaves to open them up. They look a little weird, but will look better than ever in just a couple days.

My beast are taking over the grow they are at least 2 weeks behind the Grimm beans. The grimm beans look sad but thats on me its colder than normal outside.

Okay I've been pinning them out of the way of the smaller branch colas (to-be) underneath, literally trying to open those potential bud sites to light from above. You say leave the leaf above and take out the little bud branch beneath? That actually makes sense......any replacement will be better situated no matter what and the removal will stimulate her to pop out MORE......someone's stealing them, right?

I'm just not used to beating the shit out of equipment and the actual end-product I'm making to get high-quality, maximum results. That's actually the antithesis of most things system and process oriented. I mean spare the rod I get.......breaking limbs and cutting off heads while yelling better! or more! just never occurred to me as possible, let alone effective.

I'm actually documenting this in a grow journal.....I posted here thinking more helpful advice comes when asked in the right place. I'll be continuing the grow there. I have 2 LSD25s 2 seconds from chop and that's 2 plants I've photographed the shit out of because they were the 2nd set of plants and the whole thing went kinda sideways. I have a lot of trepidation about even putting it up because of the condition of the plants but the buds I'm going to get are absolutely crazy relative to the first LSD I harvested. I'm going to show it in that journal as an aside so it's somewhere. I just don't have enough documented specifically to say it will be useful. I would like to hear what people think is the reason behind the differences. I've got like 6 - 8 colas that the top are like two/ two and a half inches wide and if you swung them they'd definitely blacken an eye. The first plant, topped and harvested in stages is in-cure now. It's fluff compared to this second one. But the plants.....you'll see.

Thanks for the time. Sorry for the length, I can get wordy. I'm almost caught up to your GM Photo journal to current. It is a great read.......but we all know it is always a different story where the rubber meets the road and process put into practice. Some of the older conversations you've had speaking on other threads are interesting as I can see you toying with the idea of using the floaters and the chats resulting. Good stuff. I also read up on the autopots and intend to run 4 plants on AC wick autos and 2 just top-fed. That and I got HP for the Fugue. Anyway it'll be on the log. I have screen questions I'll post there too. Thanks again. Shit that's long. My bad.

Thanks for the help

Thank you everybody for the input. Walking in the dark sucks. You all are a flashlight to my confidence. Great community.
