just a guess, trace mineral lockout(magnesium?).do you use tap h2o,do you let it sit for24 hours so clorine can gas out?my bottom leaves do that sometimes and i dont worry too much any more less it gets too bad.dont know too much about soil but to flush it out with 3x as much water as you got soil...whats your ph at

Not sure about the ph, don't have a meter. I am using tap water, but I let it sit to let the chlorine out.

im not sure if its the PH or not but you should have a meter to check it...eliminate the possibility.and it would probably save you troubles in the future as well

Yo Ho newbie,
By the looks of that plant, and the soil, my recommendation would be to ask yourself if you really want to make this baby grow ? If your answer is yes then I would add some perlite to the soil to help with the drainage. In fact your at a point where you might want to think about it's final home.
1. You want at least a three gallon plant container
2. Choose a real good neutral potting soil that has perlite for airation already mixed into it.
3. Your baby is looking a bit stretched, tall and lanky; needs more light for certain.
4. get this stuff all prepared
5. place small stones or broken clay pot pieces of various sizes into the bottom of the container before you pour in the potting soil. This too will help tremendously with drainage
6. do not pack the soil down, and don't water yet !!
7. Try to NOT knock off all the soil from the roots, instead remember that the roots will travel looking for good stuff, water, etc. etc.
Transplant into the new home and THEN gently firm the soil around your baby.
8. Carefully and certainly go slow with the watering, BUT do give it a good soak.
9. Hopefully you are ready with the lights, adjust as needed for the tallness of the container and your plant.
10. find a small, quit fan to gently blow at your plant, as that will help strengthen the main stalk and branches, JUST don't windstorm your baby.
11. Do Not fertilize for at least 20 days, all you will do is burn up the plant.
12. Put your plant into the light, and have the light(s) going 24/7, This is all day and all night.
13. Your baby should love the special treatment, and in about 10 days you will be so very surprised at the growth explosion.

Good Luck my friend, and here is a little some thing that your plant needs to get a good head start. GREEN MOJO

Yo Ho newbe,
I like to use distilled water, but if you trust your water then cool. Here is something that I forgot to share with you.

Just add the 3 w's and have a look, I borrowed this as it is a good helper.
