4, 100 watt light bulbs are close.
Just look at the electrical name plate, anything drawing about 430 watts is the same.

i wanted to see what is something in the house that u might have that uses the same amount of power as a 400w HID

There are a couple items..but not ones that would be used all day long... the stove for instance... or the a 400w microwave...
If you are trying to consume less power.. or mask your power..the best possible thing you could do is go buy like 30 of the 13w CFL and replace every light in your house... this should offset the light for the most part...
