I went and bought a microscope today to watch my trich development. I took a small leaf off a lower bud on my "***********" and at first it was amazing -- then I saw something moving, and then I focused in on a tiny, clear, fat little bug that has two dark spots on the top of its fat abdomen. Does anyone have a clue what these bugs are? They are too small to take a pic of, and I don't think they are thrips or spider mites -- clear/w waving arms in the front -- ugly.
What are these bugs?

sounds like spider mites to me too.

Hemperfi, get your head down to the ground and look up into the plant, see if you can see any webbing on the branches or leafs.

Welcome to growing. Aren't spider mites the biggest pisser ever? You are getting some good advice.
Spider mites are the worst, but you can with diligence get rid of them. Good luck, and stay strong.

Doesn't sound at all like thrips. Sounds like spider mites to me also. It can actually take them a while to create webs and sometimes they do not create many. If your plants are very close together, they just walk wherever they are going. Also look on the undersides of the leaves for the small white egg sacs.
Seems strange that you got them living on a boat....but, they could have come in on your cuz's clones.
When I have mites, I use something serious like Forbid or Floramite. I have not found any of the other remedies to be much good.

Azamax did not work for me. There is nothing effective out there that I personally would feel safe using right up until harvest.

I only treat when I have mites. They develop tolerance to pesticides amazingly fast (they are The Borg), and I feel it is better to not treat unless I see signs of mites. I have considered giving everyone a spray before going into 12/12 but decided against it. I don't get mites often, but living in the mountains with 3 dogs, I am bound to get them occassionally.

I have a product that can be used 5 days up to harvest ( i wouldn't risk only one week ... probably two at least ) and it is for mites.

Never used it because i decided to throw the plants with mites to trash since they weren't in the growroom so i cannot tell if effective by self experience but other ppl used it with success.
The problem with those things is that they are very toxic and most carefull is advise.

bho, I went to the hydro store and picked up something called SNS 217. They assured me I could use it in flower, so I drenched all my plants with the stuff. That was last night. I can't find one live bug today. I will hit them again in a couple of days, but I think I have bought enough time to let them keep growing for a while. I have written down in my notes Talstar -- thanks bro.

spider mites. i have had this problem and have posted about it on this board. i use pyrethrum foggers and have had 80% success and will try granny mods advice shortly.
I haven't seen a live mite since Sat. but I did just order "Floramite" from Amazon and will treat the clones w/ it before I clone them and turn them to 12/12.
80% just won't do..... I want them GONE
