West Virginia police have seized more than 1,700 marijuana plants in the northern part of Kanawha County.

State Police Sgt. Mike Smith told the Charleston Gazette that police found the marijuana during a helicopter search.

The plants were grown domestically and found in a remote area, but there are several homes within a quarter of a mile of the site. Smith says no arrests have been made and police don't have a suspect. If the plants had reached maturity the total value of Friday's find would have been about $4.5 million.

Police are trying to complete aerial searches for marijuana in all 55 counties.

:rofl::rofl::holysheep: Hemp field :rofl::rofl:

At least they're not trying to shine up their badges by overblowing the estimated value at maturity . . . like I've seen so many times . . . at $250 a zip that puts about 10 oz per plant . . . a reasonable estimation

Good job boys, lets go have a couple beers !!

Ahh thats ok they can have that little test grows I had goin on, no big deal. Was just tryin little grows down there sample the smoke of new strain. Oh well still got my main grow in me back yard ;)

West Virginia's biggest cash crop is miss mary... I wouldnt be suprised if the cops left a plant or two ;) theres some places there police wont even go... I have family there and heard some stories about how those hillbillies really protect their land for their shine and herb.

Don't ya wish there was some over sight committee that would watch them and go "Hey that is a hemp field fools not a mj grow. Now go shine your badges and shoes someplace else. And quit lying about it just for you can bolster your image. "

Anymore to me the LEO's are on such a power trip that they are actually worst then the criminals that are trying to arrest. Such a positive role model for our children now days, but of course they blame the parents for this lack of respect from the youth of America.

Sorry for going off topic a but I am just getting tired of these Leo's lying and the media reporting these lies as facts.

It is a hemp field that they "harvest" every few yrs to make their numbers look like their doing real work. Half the county knows where its at. It's just that our "news" reporters are pro-police no matter what the say or do.

I read about that somewhere, can't remember where but they would seize a bunch of "ditch weed" so that there stats looked good and that way they would get more funding. What a waste of our(taxpayers)money!!

I still think WV will be one of the next states to go MMJ and decriminalize . . . maybe even as early as next year . . .

And duck, I agree with your sentiments 100% . . . repressive MJ laws are responsible for creating a lot of resentment against the LEOs by people who otherwise respect and obey the law !!
