Usps is a joke!

The postal service is a freaking joke. I placed an order with Humbolt Seed Company and it took them 2 days to ship it... not bad. Then it took 4 days to make it from California to the state of Indiana, just a couple of states away. It sat in the state of Indiana for a freaking week and has been in transit to the next facility for the last 4 days now. I am sure it will probably get here but dang son! Just a few years ago I could order a package on a Saturday from Washington state, I'm in Pennsylvania by the way, and on Monday my package would be here. 2 days! Now it takes over 2 weeks! If that package had been shipped ups or FedEx it would have been on my porch a week ago.

I've got a book shipped UPS from California to Ohio and it's been 8 days, they now project a Friday delivery. All the delivery services are struggling with the volume created by an online shopping world. Services dramatically slowed during Covid, and have never returned.

Yeah I get it... but is that 8 days from date of order or 8 days since time they shipped the order. And 8 days is better than 14... and I still don't have an experienced delivery date. The last I even knew where my package was located was the 8th... so it left Indiana 4 days ago which is more than enough time to drive across the entire country... and it hasn't even reached its next destination.

I had a package ship from FL to Michigan. It made it to Detroit, then went to NJ, then to VA, then back to NJ, then back to Detroit THREE times! Finally got it a month after it was supposed to be here.

I've ordered parts from places that flat out tell ya that if you choose the USPS option of shipping, once they send you a tracking number, it's all on you if it doesn't show.

Now that's efficient shipping. Getting the grand tour of the country before it makes it to your door step. Wouldn't it be cool if every state had to slap a sticker on it like it was being shipped around the world and going through customs. Be neat to see everywhere your package has been before arriving at your door.

I had one, a really nice Buck 500 knife, that made it all the way from CA to Detroit. Stayed there. I finally got ahold of ebay and got my money back. I felt sorry for the seller 'cause he did his part, and I told him if it ever showed up, I'd pay him. I've had to do that before.

It's usually an extra buck or two to go FEDEX or UPS. I still sometimes get a day or two delay, but it always gets here. If it's double, I'll take a chance with USPS.

Yeah I hear that. I normally don't even look to see how much extra it is. I normally just use the cheapest option. Maybe I'll start looking. Like you said. If it's only a couple extra dollars, night as well upgrade. If it's more than probably $5-$7 more, I'll probably just wait a little longer for it.

Usps has always been great for me.
2-3 days from anywhere in the US.
I ordered a light from Amazon it was here within 24 hours...

Now from California to NY? 10 days....
I swear California is a third world f.ucking country.

Shipping rates are just becoming more and more ridiculous now too.
Usps never used to charge for boxes.
Now they make ya pay for flat rate boxes even! What the f.uck!
It cost me 27 dollars to mail a 2lb bottle of Athena IPM spray to Colorado... like whaaat.

I recently had a seed order ship out of Fl usps. Went straight to Dallas and then it should have went to Tulsa then me. Nope,,, it left Dallas for a tour of the 13 Colony's. It took a patriotic trip. Found it's way back to OKC then Tulsa and Okmulgee. Had another seed order ship out of Oregon got stuck in Eugene to never be seen again. Eugene and Indy are two sorting stations were mail goes to die. Vendor replaced the order. Also had some reloading press mounting bases from Inline Fab die in Eugene before. Vendor replaced and reshipped that order thanks to the worthless usps. Also had a recent seed order get delayed in Grand Rapids. It took them four days to cut it open, inspect, tape close and forward on to me. UPS isn't any better. AC Infinity sent me a warranty humidifier and that got lost out on I-40 and ended up in Dallas when it should of went to OKC. But nope it had to do Dallas, Arlington and Fort Worth, OKC, Tulsa, Muskogee then Okmulgee. It should have went LA, OKC, Muskogee, Okmulgee. If we can't do stuff halfass now days in the USA we can't do it at all anymore.
