i have two 65 watt cfl's in a 4 foot tall 2 feet long and wide white grow box which give 3400 lumens each is this good enough for 1 weed plant? and what would be the best way to set them up? oh and i also have a 23 watt cfl which gives 1400 lumens but i heard was useless would this help at all if i put it inside the grow box?

4 square feet. you need at least 3 of those 3400 lumen bulbs.
Yes even the 23w bulb will help. More the better.
Use the bulbs horiz.

Alos, be sure that they put out light in the correct spectrum of color. For vegetative growth look for bulbs with a 6500 K or warm white rating. If you use them for flowering, 2700 K, or warm white is recommended. I believe it's 2700 K for flowering. Double check with someone who knows for sure.

Thanks, K420 for refreshing the memory.

I ran 6 cfls during veg. I am now using 5 for side lighting plus the t5 up top for flowering. I would recommend the same thing for you. I wouldn't take away any lighting and actually, I should add a few more.

Keep them very close. 2 inches or so.

Def. add the 23 watter! It will in fact help.

im on the veg stage of my plant but im planning on having two warm white 65 watt cfls which are good for the flowering stage and add 1 soft white 23 watt and 65 watt cfls which are good for veg can i still grow my plant like this since thats all i can really afford?? (btw optimal growth is not a must)

Depends how tall your plant gets. The taller she gets, the more bulbs you will need to get light to the middle and bottom. I would at least top the plant a couple time and trim any lower leaves off. How far along are you? Any pics?

Lollipopping or doing a scrog would probably be best. Anyway, you will need a few more bulbs. Good thing they are cheap!

Check out my grow journal. I am riding a thin line like you.
