Sup people. I heard from a buddy the other day, that when your ready to harvest your buds, you should pick all the large leaves off. (keep them if you want them or trash them). He told me he does this 2 weeks before harvesting. He was saying the reason why he does it is to help the buds create more THC. I was telling him that I think it would put them into some sort of "shock". Can anyone help clarify this please?

Marijuana doesn't create thc as a result of damage stress. Some types of stress will result in thc being created, but damaging the plant isn't one of them. When you remove the leaves, you're harming the plant. That harm will make the plant try to heal itself. During the healing attempt, it will STOP creating thc or at least slow it.

Some people DO remove as many leaves as possible while the plant is still upright, immediately before chopping. Some people say it makes it easier to remove the leaves, for them.

You can recover some hash from your trim. Buy some bubble bags and get the rest of the trichomes from your plant by processing the leaves. Why throw it away?

Well its a buddy of mine. My bud is almost ready to harvest, I was just contemplating on whether or not to try it on my plants. Yeah; his reasoning was that the sunlight would focus on THC growth rather than plant growth. He said this helps with potency. To tell you the truth his bud has been good, but I'm not willing to hurt my baby. :)

Tell your friend the shade leaves are LIKE solar panels. They collect the FOOD for the plant to be healthy. Feeds the plant what it needs to get those trichs right. Just as the roots feed the plant. Photothynsisis....lol...(fun word..not spelled correctly) cant happen without leaves.

Need Leaves!

I can't imagine the poor plant being without any leaves for 2 weeks...That wld be like removing all the food in your house for 2 weeks and then thinking your muscles wld become all big and strong.....not
