Why don't people just plant in like a 3 gallon pot instead of planting in a pellet then growing it in a little pot, then transplanting, transplanting... is there an advantage to root growth from the transplanting?

if you potup every time they get near root bound then you are allowing them to use the space available for root growth, threfor you wont need to use valuable floor space for just pots, just because the rootsare so spread out.. but it also gives good anchorige when planting outside, no winds will be ripping up a plant with good root system.
