According to research, Daylight Saving Time (DST) can be considered bad for your heart, as studies have shown a noticeable increase in heart attacks, particularly on the Monday following the "spring forward" time change when an hour of sleep is lost, potentially due to the disruption of your body's natural circadian rhythm; this is supported by findings from the American Heart Association and other medical institutions.

Key points about DST and heart health:
  • Increased risk of heart attacks:
Studies have observed a spike in heart attacks on the Monday following the spring time change when transitioning to DST.

  • Disrupted circadian rhythm:
The sudden shift in sleep schedule can disrupt your body's internal clock, leading to stress hormones and potential cardiovascular complications.

  • Vulnerable populations:
People with pre-existing heart conditions may be particularly susceptible to the negative effects of DST on their heart health.

We did it every summer , Mom use to run and close all the windows in the house and we (the kids ) hit our bikes to ride the smoke machine.

Hey ya'll...only about 60F today, not a lot going on....me and my wife are going to Applebee's for dinner. We hardly ever eat out (on account of me), so something different for today. Them dang nasty bradford pears are blooming, and a few other trees...daffodils and hyacinth are blooming too.

I remember when they did it around the old ranch. After a couple of years, I noticed that you didn't hear any birds. Years later they came out with the "Silent Spring" movie. Didn't take long to figure out why.
