Damn brother. That's expensive.😳
My Chevy Avalanche has over 360K and still running strong. I can replace my engine for a little over 5 grand. Think I'll stick to gas.😋
I would like an Electric Golf Car for running around the neighborhood and running to the corner store though.🥰
I remember when I lived in Florida there are Communities that almost everyone there has a Golf Cart.
Sun City is freaking cool. They take their Golf Carts into town.

What has your fuel and maintenance cost been for 360K miles?

Hell if I know. You got to understand though brother, those miles until here recently were traveling thousands of miles all over the Country working for the Government carrying tools and all kinds of shit. No way I could do that in an Electric vehicle.
Now don't get me wrong. I think they are great for running around town. I could probably use one now because I'm so close to work but I own all my vehicles and my house. I have no desire for a monthly bill for a new car. Especially something that expensive. I'll have to buy a Golf Cart 😁

No offense taken. We also own a Jeep GCL for those occasions where the EV isn't suitable. Our EV is strictly a town car, which is where 99% of our driving is. We have put less than 1000 miles a year on our Jeeps.

Our maintenance and repair costs besides tires has been under $1,000 and fuel costs have been about 25%. If we walk away from it today our loss will be $12,000 for the 9 years we've driven it, or about $1,333 a year.

As for the costs they are charging for EV's today, I think they are absurd and wouldn't buy one either. Especially since an EV is much simpler and easier to build than gas cars.

I infer it because the car manufacturers have figured out that they won't be supplementing car sales revenue with replacement part sales and need to get their money up front to maintain profitability.

Morning everybody, I have had some good rides over the years but always a used vehicle or something I built myself. In 21 I got the ol lady a brand new 22 camry. Almost two years in I traded it for a 23 rav4, only new vehicles either of us has ever had. I got a 08 f150 with the 4.6 engine, 270000 miles and still runs good. Would love to have a new truck but I got to make sure the rav payments are paid, can't make much money retired. I hope I can get this leg straightened out then maybe a newer truck. Yall have a great day.

Good morning Giggy! Wishing you a great day as well!

I've mostly bought used vehicles and built my own fun cars as well. My last new car was 1974 and was a Carmen Ghia convertible.

Giggy, you find a good lawyer and you can get a new 4X4 full sized truck, gold plated!

GW, I remember when you could buy those Carmen Ghia's for a song and sing it yourself. Now a days, you make 'em turn key and put a rude paint job on 'em and sell 'em for 50K.

I sold mine for more than I paid for it new, but had repainted it and beefed up the engine, suspension, and brakes.

I saw one that was painted turquoise with an almost acid pink splash stripe down the sides. Sounds like crap, but it wasn't. A rolling work of art done on a poor man's porsche.
I was still poor at the time and mine was bright orange with a black soft top. After I redid the suspension and installed engine upgrades with a Webber on each head, it performed like a Porsche.

I could do 180-degree emergency brake turnarounds in one lane at 60 mph and take corners marked at 15 mph at 60 mph with a downshift and come out of the corner at 40 mph.
