No enigma. Basically, doggies are nice, while many many people just suck. They also have a voice and ability to get a job. Little doggies don't.

I helped people who then stole from me. It's part of their survival mode. Get someone to help, so you can find something to take, then move on. To me, THAT is the enigma.

Never had that happen with an animal, all they ever stole was my heart!

I agree but you missed my point
Mankind sucks , we all care , but it is for self gain.
Survival of the strongest as it always has been.
We're on the same line

I didn't miss your point at all: help someone, they wrong you. Help an animal they don't.yep the one you helped was receiving, but only in a greed filled fashion.

I once thought I wanted to be a Highway Patrolman in Florida. One of them did a presentation during Driver's Ed class where he described an accident scene in which a little girl got run over - he said he could hear her skin sizzling on the exhaust over her screaming. That quenched any chance of ever being any kind of a cop for me. I couldn't do that job, nor any job that required dealing with constant, horrible trauma. Especially not with children.
You hit the nail Broh
That was the hardest part. Telling the family was a bit tougher.
The PD or docs did most of that, but times I had to inform parents they lost their precious child.................

Very similar to what this Country does
Hands out Billions , to only be slapped in the face after the deed is done, subject for another thread.

All in all I would do it again, I helped save a lot of people too.
Sad part is both the good and the bad remains .

I grew up in the wrong time for being a cop. Two big rules overshadowed everything. Don't join the military and no matter what...never call the police for anything.

I worked hand and hand with most likely the largest Police dept in the world. (EMS) I saw what those guys went through I was there on the street with them. I understand why they do things they do, and even had quite a few come to me and break down crying asking for my help. Always greener on the other side so to say,......
I would never wanted to be a cop either.

My Father was a Sgt on the Troopers in a big state
He was a mean MF, and took the job after the War
Things were different back then, I loved the fact he was who he was.
