I did home study horticulture and animal husbandry growing up on a farm, but didn't take any college classes in it. Did ya'll hoe any vegetable gardens, shovel piles of manure, or pull a calf to assist its birth?

36 years ago, we bought our house from the greenskeeper at Columbia Edgewater golf club, who did a great job of putting in a stellar sprinkler system, lawn, and gardens. Sadly, but to our benefit, he came down with AIDs and stage four cancer after restoring the place to its original splendor and glory.
The whole family on my father's side were farmers and ranchers. Did my time on a tractor. Grandma taught me how to garden...grandpa taught me how to hunt..

At the end of the day until this day Mrs Pute taught me how not to kill.... except rats......

probably from all that fishing and driving the boat in those rough lake conditions , white caps and all that smashing of the waves , yeah , that will do a number on anyones back

you may have to cut back on fishing this year until your back heals up
I hope not. I need to cut the grass today.

we are

this is our home base , when the seas get rough and we need a break to get our land legs , we have the homestead out here on the big land ocean

any golfers out on the course or is it still to cold?
Golf course is full on warm days....no tee times available here. Snow Friday. Want me to reserve a time for ya.

3 of my older brothers and pops back in the day and the old section house we lived in

pops would back the tractor up to the porch and hook the belt up to the washing machine on laundry day

we also took baths in a No.9 washtub

Got a good walk in. Will have to start walking earlier on warm days now. It got hot walking across the dam today. Just finished cutting the grass. Here we go.....twice a week until October.

Back is better today. Don't know W T F I do but I do it well. Back pain is HeII. I fear that one of these days it will get the best of me.

Got my lazy ass busy and accomplished more than I intended to. Got the backhoe off the tractor, put the three point hitch on along with a 5' rake, and raked up the sod I tore up along the driveway. With the help of the FEL, I carried 6 full bucket loads out to the compost pile and turned it in. Got a bunch of huge branches that came off a large pine tree during the last ice storm loaded up and out into the brush pile out back. Fired up the ATV and took it on a short cruse, got the golf cart out for the Old Hen to do her yard work with, and even came up with enough time to take the TJ out for a ride.
I'm gonna pay dearly for the shovel work I did, but it had to be done. I'm ready for a hot shower.
