For the last couple of years I’ve augmented my gym training with going to the local YMCA. I am 70 years old and I feel like I’m the youngest person in the building. I see a lot of these folks barely able to walk and I think what they must’ve done in their life to bring them to that point. My body is broken pretty severely, but there’s only a few people in that building that are doing any better than I as far as weights. My personal best on leg presses was 395 for eight reps and that’s all I had.

I worked extensively with the seniors when I was training at several YMCA's prior to the Coof...I would say seniors made up 70% of my client base.

You guys were my favorite clients. On time (usually early), and no time for bs. Very rewarding to help people get stronger. I miss it at times.

My lifts are still pretty good. Form is impeccable tho... that's all that matters. I can push three plates easy on any lift. Still 500 in squat and deadlift if I wanna. . . Also have a mean turning side kick. Better ask @Memnoch ... hahaha

Comes in handy at times.

A lifetime of lifting is the only reason I am still alive..........that and the wife of course.
Osteoperosis really knocked the plates off most of my lifts and kind of turned me gay.......err,to bodybuilding.
😆

I'm in the same boat... I focus mainly on functional training these days, as everything I enjoy requires me to be able to be active, mobile, and pick up things ... oh and we still have little kiddos, so it's a must to be able to play haha.

My new job has me hopping most the day. I climb lots of stairs going from floor to floor and ladders going on the roofs. Not to mention walking the Mall several times a day. My heart is getting a good workout. I do pretty damn good for a guy that had open heart surgery 10 yrs ago.
I've lost 5 lbs already.🤪
