Have you had any experience with the product "SUPERthrive"? It is promoted as a vitamin solution.

I have used it before i found out it wasn't 100 organic. I liked it. And, i drank some once by mistake...lol...and it didn't kill me.

It is a good product.

Snake oil. NorcalHal buys it by the gal!

:yeahthat:

I think most additives, boosters, etc are unneeded and just an attempt at taking your hard earned cash. If you are using decent nutrients or a decent super soil the only additive I would say you might need is Cal/Mag+. Especially in Flower, and/or in hydro. It's the only thing besides my GH 3 part that I have used for years. Some of those additives are even toxic. I forget the name of it but I think it had the word gravity in its title and it was tested and was toxic. I don't trust the market at all...like Nchef said, snake oil salesmen. jmo

I used it for 30 years in cloning roses.. I don't think it is snake oil, and it isn't expensive...

SuperThrive is cheap, and has been around for decades. My mother always used a drop when watering her houseplants, and if she had one that was stressed, she swore by it.

It wasn't developed for the mmj growing market, it was around a long, long time before that.

Cheap....it is not. 175 a gallon...not too cheap in my book.

I love my superthrive.

Superjive is a root growth hormones that was originally use in the nursery biz for treating the soil when bare root trees were transplanted

My Bro used it in his grow with good success but found that when he did his normal stuff correctly, he didn't really need to spend the money on it. I have never seen much need for it myself but it is a decent plant tonic for struggling plants. It has been my experience that Plant tonics are not made to improve yields, they are for helping struggling, sick, or at risk plants.

If you have a good clean environment (air and root) and give them good food that they need, then they will produce :) The key to yields is to optimize the balance of all the environmental factors that affect the plants :)

I use it in my MJ grows and in my Garden on my Veggies. I love it,,especially when rooting new plants.I have never done any side by sides to prove anything,,but to each his own.

I shouldn't have lumped super thrive in with the ones I was actually referring to, like bushmaster and gravity. This link should clarify what I was referring to >>http://www.marijuanagrowershq.com/plant-growth-regulators-poison-marijuana/

I was in the same boat for years...nothing but 3 part...maybe calmag.
When I started going "bigger", I started experimenting with supplements. After going through quite a few, I found that Bud Candy and Koolbloom worked well for me and I saw actual results, meaning more weight.
I can't say "tighter" nugs, as it didn't really make them any tighter then what they already were, just bigger and more swelled out.

HL, you should know more then the rest of the folks about using supplements man. Most of my friends who weightlifted...used supplements, legal or not haha. If you want to get bigger, weightlifters use supplements.
Same for growers. There is no denying this.

Now, having the plant being able to utilize the supplements COULD be another story. I run CO2 elevated rooms, so my plants are wanting more nuits, and a hotter mix, because they needed it. I saw a good 20% increase in weight when I started using bloom supplements. They worked for me.

NCH The 20% was that after you had the environment dialed in and you added the supplements?

Yes Sir, absolutely. It was after I was running CO2,changed to Digi's (which also improved yield 20% alone) and had the temps/RH in check.
I started adding Liquid Koolbloom, and Bud Candy, then cutting out the Liquid KB and going with the Powder the last couple of weeks.
BC is nothing more then Soluble mag, which the plants eat up during flower.

I should say this too, I am getting ready to change out the Superthrive with Vitamino, as I have seen some good results from friends grows that have started using the Vitamino. I think it would only be beneficial for CO2 enhanced rooms though...not too sure.

I don't think St is snake oil... Paying insane amounts for bud candy and kool bloom etc is the true snake oil.

You can get powdered versions of these main ingredients in bulk for pennies on the dollar... Not 24 bux a pound like the shops charge.

LOL how did that happen Rosebud?

Question-Is Cal/Mag something all growers should have or is it mainly just for people that us RO water? That was the impression I was under.

yeah for sure its a good idea to have some Cal-Mag ready on hand incase your plants get a deficiency of cal or mag, which are 2 very common deficiencies in MJ plants.
