Cal/mag is a must for hydro growers. Not necessary for organic growers as they get it other ways. Often helpful for synthetic nute growers. But the real deciding factor is your water hardness and chemical solution makeup. Many times, people have a lot of calcium in their water and don't need cal/mag but just a magnesium supplement if in hydro. :)

I have a product called ThriveAlive B1 (the green one), which is essentially the same thing as Superthrive, but cheaper and OMRI listed. I usually just mix a little and pre soak the soil with it before planting germed seeds in it. Seems to help get their little heads out of the soil, and give a little boost to get going. At least that's been my experience. You can also use it per the bottle, as a foliar spray, transplanting, rooting, and in hydro systems. But that's a contradiction lol, OMRI listed but for use in hydro systems?? I thought hydro and organics were a no no? I got it for free in a raffle at my local shop so no complaints here thought! Haha. Happy growing! :)

Thanks for the feedback. I also found the Superthrive thread on the "Similar Thread" section at the bottom of the page to be very interesting..
