Hi guys

Something just blinked into my mind, I was replying to a stretch problem when this question entered my mind, a new popped seed needs no feed for several weeks, what occured to me is that the seed has its reserves and will gernerate its own energy to grow, what if .... we make the plants stretch so the fresh seedling uses all its energy reserve up and we re pot down to an inch or so and the plant then needs help and food, we could create quicker needy plants that we can enhance earlier, quicker growth, mature quicker, more stoutness, just a stoned thought :)

Your comments?

myself, when I transplant out of the 3" pot (starter pot), I do so when the cots yellow and die... when they go into the 1/2gal pot (end pot), I always bury the plant right up to the first set of leaves (past where the cots were).

This puts the main root ball at the bottom of the pot already to facilitate bottom feeding immediately and usually knocks a few inches off height :hubba:

hey vancouver guy, what kind of yeild do you get from your 1/2 gal. pots ???? just wondering.

That is a interesting theory you have there HIE.

you can do this, the stem will end up toughening up and form root nodes if it is dark and moist. you can see this after time when the sten underground is shown after water washed the medium from the stem after watering over time. the stalk will become knobby. this is where roots form. i supercrop from birth so stretch isnt a problem but planong "deep" has been a method to combat stretch for yrs.

i say theres nothing wrong with this method hippy. it wors great for beginners that have lonnnnng stretched stalks.
